Maybe he will provide an example to some of the rest of the bishops.

Second time she has been disinvited. I wonder if she will see the light some day soon? :newidea: I bet the anti-Burke bloggers are loving a second opportunity in a week to bash him.

God bless the Archbishop (even if his only involvement in this decision is because it is under his jurisdiction.) 👍

. “It was a special opportunity because my daughter is one of the graduates. I’m disappointed that the archbishop has made this decision.”

😃 Glad she is disappointed. Makes my day!👍

God bless Archbishop Burke. Too bad many more of our religious leaders will not follow suit. If this Congresswoman can be denied this speaking opportunity, but about denials for the other too many Catholics in the Congress who are pro-abortion, pro-stem cell research, etal.

It is good to see more and more simply standing up for the truth some things are not negotiable. And yet still RESPECTING all life in the interim.

It is impressive that the Bishop is willing to take a stand at some cost to defend the Holy Spirit inspired teachings of the Church.

God bless him and I hope and pray that this may serve to be a teaching moment for the public and other Bishops as well.

Good. I am thankful that Archbishop Burke has the courage to stand up for what is right.

God bless Archbishop Burke. I wish he, Chaput, and Bruskewitz could go on tour together throughout every diocese in this country!

God Grant Him MANY Years!

He defends the most vulnerable from a heretic! Bravo!

Now, if she’s openly pro-abortion, why has he not gone ahead and put her on notice openly?

I need to point out to you all that His Excellency Archbishop Burke was allegedly not directly responsible for the decision.
Sue Brown, a spokeswoman for the Catholic Education Office of the Archdiocese of St. Louis, said the education office had recommended to the president of St. Joseph’s Academy that McCaskill not be permitted to speak because McCaskill’s positions are contradictory to church teaching.
McCaskill’s camp, however, puts the blame for the decision on Archbishop Raymond Burke.

Of course, without our Shepard’s example, perhaps this event might have gone on as originally planned.

God Bless Archbishop Burke.

😃 Well, Global warming, too many stray dogs etc. are supposedly his fault too according to those who oppose him and the church. So let em rant.

They are probably right this time backhandedly…His example finally got the attention of the school.

All I can say is that Archbishop Burke and Archbishop Chaput are a thorn in the liberal left’s side.

We had a similar situation a few years ago in South Bend Indiana in which the former governor, who had graduated decades ago from St Joseph’s HS, was “disinvited” from his speaking engagement. I believe it was at the behest of the students that the “disinvitation” was made, and it was due to his pro-abortion position.

I wouldn’t make this left/right, but life/death. There are left leaning people on this forum who are pro-life. (i hope)

Unfortunately many of them claim to be pro-life but vote for those who support abortion
