Happy days are here again. I wish these politicians would believe there is a higher law, than the ones they legislate.

Well Powell is not running but you are right about Gulani. A case icase to ppointis Sean Hannity. He likes Guliani and I think it is likely Guliani is his choice for President. When interviewing him and/or talking about Guliani he gave the usual nonsense about how it didnt matter if he were pro-choice -he will appoint only conservative judges and ther is nothing wrong with suporting a pro-choice poiliticans. A Catholic Priest wrote a scathing editiorial about him and Hannity invited him on the show. Hannity barely let him get a word in edgewise as he told this Priest he was a devout catholic had been an altar boy learned latin as a kid and his pastor told him his views were just fine. he then poroceeded to attack the Church over the the Homosexual Priest Scandal and its negatoive comments on the Iraq war and the Death penalty. see how the progression goes? First you put you politics ahead of your faith, then you those who point at Catholic teaching on the issue and then he slimes the Catholic Church on national TV. Once you reject the church its all downhill.from there. I fear that a Guliani canidacy will alienate many otherwise good Catholics from their Church.

But boo hoo, McCaskill’s daughters go to St. Joe’s…so she was especially looking forward to speaking at the commencement.
If her daughters learn what they should be taught at that Catholic high school, they can convert their mother to “real Catholicism.”

I don’t think it matters at this point who anyone would vote for. Powell is not running at this time and has always said he will not run. Giuliani is in front right now because of his toughness on some issues. Apparently many of our “Catholic” friends don’t care if he is pro-abortion, etc. But I am not willing to believe that he will be the candidate at the end of the day (over-used term). I think there might be others more acceptable to enter the fray.

And i would not vote for either one of them. Giullani is not a true conservative. He calls himself because he thinks that will get him elected.
As much respect as i have for Powell and Rice they both support pro-choice and therefore i wouldn’t support either one of them running even thought they are republicians. Life before anything else!

It is scary that a Catholic HS invited her to speak to begin with, & nobody from the administration objected, apparently. I guess that kind of thing happens a lot. Thank God they have an Catholic Education Office / Bishop with courage!

That’s the thing that gets me as well. Instead of “uninviting” a speaker, why doesn’t the school screen potential speakers first? If you’re running a Catholic school, shouldn’t Catholic values be in evidence in all aspects of the school?

Villanova University, “a comprehensive Roman Catholic institution” (from their own web site) has Chris Matthews as the commencement speaker this year. Doesn’t he call himself Catholic and pro-choice? I think that might confuse these graduates that a person can be both.

I consider myself a consevative Catholic. I could no more vote for Giuliani than I could Hillary. IMO Brownback would make a fine president. I am against the death penalty and gun control.Anyone wanting to vote for Brownback?
