What will happen in eight days?
In eight days I’ll do one of two things. If Biden is elected I’ll go on with my life as usual. If Trump wins I’ll laugh myself silly with schadenfreude.

A disgusting act of political hypocrisy by a dying political party.
Why? It was what the Democrats wanted a few years ago.

The GOP has finally agreed with them
The Republicans are hypocrites,
The Democrats aren’t? Why did they change their tune from before? If the idea was right before it is right now. Right has nothing to do with what happen in the past.

Or was the GOP right before?

Hillary’s mother wasn’t pro-choice?

Oh, yeah. Back THEN babies lives in the womb were protected by America (and most states) from murderous creepy “doctors” or less … like mine was … and Hillary’s. Not to say that OUR mothers would have killed us anyway.

Next hurdle for “us” … being born again. Are we on track?

Vote right. Live right. Love. 💝

I heard an instrumental version of God Bless America … and SOME other instrumental hymn that blends faith and patriotism. Nice.

For a quick second I saw Justice Thomas smiling broadly and laughing …
not his usual staid and reverent look. 😉

He can be a cheerful guy. Unfortunately usually when I saw him he was hearing oral argument, where he often appeared to be half asleep. He was famous for almost never talking during oral argument. One time he asked a question and it was like “Garbo Talks”. We were all totally jealous of the one guy who’d happened to be in court that day and heard it.

Matthew 5:12

"Blessed are you when men shall revile you and persevute you and say all manner of evil about you because of you because of me … 12 rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you. "

It did my heart good to see his hearty smile and laughter and be honored to give the oath to Amy Coney Barrett!

They’re already warming up for it with a Brett Kavanaugh quote. Looks like they decided to leave Amy alone and go back to the Brett-bashing.

I suspect Justice Roberts will compensate for this appointment
by moving left/activist, to balance the court.

I just listened to a podcast with a preview of the upcoming term, and one of the lawyers on there thought perhaps the confirmation of ACB might actually free up JR to be more conservative. The claim was that Roberts was trying to keep appearances of a balanced court. But with a clear conservative majority, that will be significantly more difficult to do without seriously tortured thinking (such as with June Medical Services). He is now more free to rule as he thinks, rather than how he thinks the court as a whole to appear to think.

Of course he’ll still have significant control over what cases will be heard, but his individual votes and opinions are freer.

“Judge Barrett seems very biased toward the Constitution,” said Senator Mazie Hirono. “She’s not only read it but seems to have some sort of allegiance to it. She can’t be impartial on any case involving the Constitution as she’ll always side with it.”

Vice Presidential candidate Kamala Harris amplified the concerns. “We would prefer to have someone who has never read the Constitution,” she told reporters while loudly cackling at an inappropriate time in the conversation. “We can’t have a justice who is biased about what the Constitution does and doesn’t allow the government to do.
