Am I the only one who can’t tell what’s satire and what’s “real” these days? The 'Bee has some pretty good ones!
In theory, Roberts.Who’s the 6th?
The Democrats should be upset that Ginsberg did not retire while Obama was still in office … she certainly should and could have given her health and age … I think their [the Dems] rage at the Republicans is misplaced and obviously their icon was perhaps more narcissistic than Trump … she could not trust the Democratic President Obama to nominate a judge to carry on her legacy … no she - Ginsberg decided that she needed to stay on the Court - no matter what …“Judge Barrett seems very biased toward the Constitution,” said Senator Mazie Hirono. “She’s not only read it but seems to have some sort of allegiance to it. She can’t be impartial on any case involving the Constitution as she’ll always side with it.”
Vice Presidential candidate Kamala Harris amplified the concerns. “We would prefer to have someone who has never read the Constitution,” she told reporters while loudly cackling at an inappropriate time in the conversation. “We can’t have a justice who is biased about what the Constitution does and doesn’t allow the government to do.
The problem was the same as for Garland–a Republican controlled senate (unless you are talking way back in 2008). I think she wanted someone as left as she was and knew such a person would never get through the Republican senate. So she held on until 2016 with the hopes of a Democrat takeover of the senate and presidency. But that didn’t pan out, so she was stuck trying to ride it out until the 2020 election–again with the hopes of a Democrat victory in both. The Democrats should be upset that Ginsberg did not retire while Obama was still in office … she could not trust the Democratic President Obama to nominate a judge to carry on her legacy …
Touche’.Am I the only one who can’t tell what’s satire and what’s “real” these days?
Yep. They are PROJECTING their anger at themselves,The Democrats should be upset that Ginsberg did not retire while Obama was still in office … she certainly should and could have given her health and age … I think their [the Dems] rage at the Republicans is misplaced and obviously their icon was perhaps more narcissistic than Trump . . .
I do not believe Roberts can be counted on as a conservative. In theory, Roberts.
Exactly, this was all due to RGB’s hubris, her desire to make history and have Hillary nominate her replacement.Really … she could have retired any time between 2008 and 2013 when the Dems controlled the Senate … she stayed because she wanted to - for the notoriety or her own selfish reasons … that she bet on the Dems maintaining control until her death or incapacity to stay on the Court was a bet she lost …
We are in agreement. The subtlety is that while Obama would surely have gotten a nomination through the senate in 2014 or 2015 (or just about any other time prior to Scalia’s death), it would not have been as to the left as RBG was. And so, we have an example of le mieux est l’ennemi du bien. She could have retired in 2014 or 2015 and still had Obama replace her. The only complication would be the nomination would need to get GOP approval. Garland wasn’t nominated to replace Scalia till March 2016.
Unfortunately, I think you are correct.I do not believe Roberts can be counted on as a conservative.

Bill Maher says Ruth Bader Ginsburg ‘should’ve quit’ under Obama: She didn’t ‘take the hint’
Maher knocked the Democrats for having their SCOTUS plan be ‘Ruth Bader Ginsburg doesn’t die’
By Joseph A. Wulfsohn | Fox News
“Real Time” host Bill Maher had some harsh words for the late Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg . . .
. . . Kimmel then asked Maher when Ginsburg should have quit, which prompted him point to the 2013 lunch she reportedly had with President Obama, who apparently urged her to retire while he was still in office.
“The Democratic plan for the Supreme Court was ‘Ruth Bader Ginsburg doesn’t die.’ And that’s why they’re such a loser party,” Maher explained while making an “L” sign on his forehead. "I vote for them. . . .
