What evidence do you have for this “fact”? The fact is the Catholic Church was worshiping on Sunday long before Constantine legalized Christianity. There is ample written evidence for this. Indeed, their is evidence that the 1st century NT Christians worshiped on Sundays. John Begins his Revelation with “I was in the spirit on the Lords day” Don’t try that old ridiculous claim that he was speaking of the Sabbath. He was a Jew and if he had meant the Sabbath he would have said “I was in the spirit on the Sabbath” He didn’t because it was a Sunday, the day Christians worship their Risen Savior. What day of the week were all the Apostles gathered together when the Holy Spirit descended upon them in what we call the Pentecost??? SUNDAY. You have no evidence either in the scriptures or elsewhere, and no case to support your lies against the Catholic Church.

We don’t hide from anything, and we didn’t change anything. The Sabbath is and always will be the Sabbath…Saturday. Jews worship on Saturday. Christians on the other hand worship on Sunday, the day our Lord Rose from the dead and we always have. By denying this You are denying God, and his son Jesus Christ. Satan has entered your hearts and twisted them into something hateful…There, how do you like someone calling you possessed by the devil?

How could we do such a thing? You can’t change a day of the week. The Sabbath is Saturday always has been and always will be. Christians worship on Sunday it’s in the scriputures.

Does the Bible say John was in spirit on SUNDAY? NO, that your opinion NOT FACT! Show me where in the Bible it says that the Apostals were worshipping on SUNDAY at Pentecost? Give me a verse if you can! I except Jesus Christ as my savior, I recognize that he resurected, and I also worship him like he wants me to, follwong his example, keeping his will and all his commandments. I truely recognize Jesus Christ as my savior, that’s why I DON’T confess my sins to men, because I belive JESUS died for me, and when I pray to him, he has the power to forgive me, not a priest, not the pope, and certainly not a church.
According to scripture, when you are in breaking God’s law, you are in sin and he all know were sin originated. So if God’s not in the heart, you now very well who is (satan). You speak of hate, my church has NEVER burned people alive, or put them inside an iron maiden, and strapped them to the rack… or were these acts of LOVE? True Christians act like Christ, they love they don’t torture, they follow this law (10 commandments), like he did when he was on earth, and he commanded from the begining.

I think I will not move on! I already met your challenge with tons of BIBLE verses, now if you read them or understood them is something else. If you consider asking for a BIBLE TEXT THAT SUPPORTS YOUR CHURCHES CLAIM, OF SUNDAY AS THE LORDS HOLY DAY taunting and anti Catholic dribble, that a real shame. All I want is for someone to give me that one text. Ephesians 4:29 Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.
Ephesians 5:4 Nor should there be obscenity, foolish talk or coarse joking, which are out of place, but rather thanksgiving.

Here is a question that maybe some of you folks can help me with:

Why is it that Seventh Day Adventists on this forum almost never list “Seventh Day Adventist” or “SDA” under Religion on their profiles? Instead they tend to either leave it blank, or put “Christian” or “Protestant” in that spot. Are they hiding something? Or just ashamend?

It is the same way with their evangelistic meetings and a lot of their literature. Is it a secret or what?

You’re wrong on this. First off, Sabbath does NOT mean Saturday. It means the seventh or
“rest day”. Secondly, Christ gave Peter the authority to “bind and loose” on earth, and it willl be so in heaven. Thirdly, from the beginning the Apostles and the early church worshipped God on a Sunday. So, although it is man made, it is also so in heaven. Christ came to fulfill the law which was binding on the Jews. Since many rejected Him, they are still under the law. Those who follow Christ are no longer under the law for He has said so.

So, if I understand you correctly your authority to give the correct interpretation of any and all scriptures comes from the Holy Spirit?. Correct?
The holy Spirit is indeed perfect and infallible. So you then are claiming that infallibility when you interpret scripture. Right?

Nothing but inform… Just like Mr. Paul likes to do. He thinks he can mock other faiths posting websites of, as he likes to call it… Catholic Fun. Well I don’t see much fun, when hundreds of priests have been accused of sexually abusing small boys and teenagers. Why mock or make fun of other faiths when many of your faith’s leaders are sexually abusing kids. Because we are all human beings, (EVERYONE INCLUDING THE POPE), we are all sinners. No the fact is, that if SATAN working through Constantine and the POPE (538A.D.) were the ones that tried to change God’s Holy day. Just because the Catholic Church has millions of followers all around the world and has been around since then, does not make their change of God’s law OK.

I think if you want to make this type of accusation, you may want to provide proof that until 538 A.D., Christians were celebrating the Eucharist on Saturday. Since it would have been nearly impossible to do that because of the fact that they were Christians, not Jews.

When you show us proof, we’ll accept your accusation as plausible. Until then we have a little document called the Didache, written around 90 A.D. that states exactly what was expected of Christians at that time.

“And he shall think to change the times and the law.” Daniel 7:25, RSV.* “Thus have ye made the commandment of God of none effect by your tradition.” “In vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.” Matthew 15:6.

While there is no doubt about ern’s orientation, education and ability to work scripture, his degrading approach to his own posts and his treatment of others posters is starting to stand out. Civility is taking a beating - at least in my opinion … and, maybe it is impacting on us posters.

This individual has effectively shot his wad, he has nothing further that add - only continue to repeat himself and try to humilitate the CC for the actions of sinful clerics. While Bates and While have long since been judged by God - evidence of their activities and and misadventures are public knowledge - I see no reason to call them names. (And, yes, I know, this is just a repeat of ern’s demonstrated ability with the English language… ) But, I think this is taking us off course, and it certainly is not improving our development of practicing charity. And, I think I have taken a hit here, too.

After some consideration, I have decided to let ern continue his ravings without any help from me. He can wait until hell freezes over… he can even hold his breath if he thinks this will speed things up…… but, I have had it with his: rantings, ravings, degrading comments, being the sole interpreter of scripture and failing to respond to most questions without having to be verbally beaten over the head to move on and just do the work.
