Sex or celebacy? What do you choose?

I already know what most of you men are going to say!

I choose celebacy, so did Christ…

I choose celibacy because I’m not married. If I was married I would choose sex.

Why do you think that most of the men would choose sex? I would think that it would be equal across the board when it comes to both sexes - men aren’t the only ones who have a sexual appetite.

Stating, “I already know what most of you men are going to say!” is a little stereotypical, it truly depends on the person.

Anyone with common sense would agree that men are more “sex hungry” otherwise they wouldn’t be men.

Are you joking or being serious?
No, I am not joking now, but when I said in the OP that “I know what you men will choose” I was joking then, but you have change it all out of proportion by taking my literally! 😛

I just had this idea that if everyone just didn’t have any children then when this generation finally ends we will finally have ended the whole “fall of man” thing… We would all be with God and this earthly cycle of pain and grief would all be over. It’s just a painless way to end our despair.

Albigensianism. Look it up. It’s a heresy you’ve promoted on two different threads now.

FYI, heresy is a bad thing.

I’m lost. Why does this thread say that sex is evil? Where did that come from?

I said that because it causes reproduction, and if our existance is a sin (since we are sinners) then wouldn’t it be better if we just stopped breeding (if that’s what people call it today) and just faded away? Because then we would all be with God and none of us would be left on Earth to suffer at the hands of other humans.

According to Ron Kont, anything aside from intercourse, even inside the bounds of marriage, is indeed evil.

Was there a time when the Church actually taught this?

Reproduction is the natural end of sexual intercourse. It was designed by God for that end. Sex is the means through which spouses share the intimacy and love that Christ shares with his Church. There is nothing sinful in the sexual act between spouses. Reproduction is the result of divine of love. There is nothing wrong with that either.

Our existaence is not a sin. We flow from the hand of God. We are the image and likeness of the invisible God, of his eternal Son. We are sinners, but we are not sin. Sin is an objective reality. Man is not sin. Man commits sins. But that does not take away from his dignity as a son and daughter of God.

Man comes into existence through the Word of God. "And God said . . . " As the Gospel of John tells us, “The Word was made flesh.” Therefore, it follows that if man comes into existence through the eternal Word and the eternal Word assumes our human nature, there is nothing sinful about our nature. Humanity was God’s gift to the Son and the Son was God’s gift to humanity. It is an indivisible relationship of holiness.

Marriage fulfills the mission of Christ to the Church. Marriage is the response to God’s call to love and to serve.

It is heresy to desire to do away with sex, marriage and reproduction. These are God’s gifts and they are goo.

But why then did christ need to be born of a virgin? 🤷

But why then did christ need to be born of a virgin? 🤷
Because he did not need a Father. He had a father. He needed a mother. His mother had to be consecrated to God to be a fitting vessel for the divine conception.

Christ was conceived without sex, because his Father is not a corporeal being, not because sex is wrong. Had Christ been born of a woman who belonged to another man, that would have been contrary to God’s plan for marriage. For in marriage all the children born to the woman, must be the children of the spouse. Jesus could not be the son of Joseph, as he was already the son of God. Mary could not have been married, because a married woman who is consecrated to God should only bear the children of her husband. So what’s left? A virgin . . . a woman who belongs to no man. Notice that Mary was not married when she conceived Jesus. She marries Joseph later.

Yes, Ron promotes his opinions on here heavily. His work doe NOT bear an imprimatur. It is his opinion ONLY. And when compared to actual Church teaching, it is inaccurate.
But why then did christ need to be born of a virgin? 🤷
Christ did not NEED to be born at all. He chose to be born.

He chose Mary, a young woman not yet married. What else would she be other than a virgin, since Mary was faithful to God’s design for sexuality.

Sex is not bad. Matter and creation are not bad. Man is created in God’s image, therefore Man is definitely NOT bad.

These are heresies long ago dealt with by the Church. I encourage you to learn WHAT the Church teaches about these subjects instead of going off on your own making up ideas about God, sex, man, and creation.

If I believed what your church taught I would be as good as blind.

If you don’t believe what the Church teaches about the nature of man, sex, creation, and God then why are you seeking to enter full communion with the Church? You do realize, I presume, that when you enter the Church you make a profession of faith stating you believe and hold ALL that the Catholic Church teaches. You bind yourself to Catholic teaching, Catholic law, and Church authority on pain of mortal sin. Not something to do lightly.

Your posts are very erratic. You claim to be Catholic, you claim to be Methodist, you call it “your church” and yet you claim to be in RCIA. You claim a lot of things, most of which from post to post are mutually exclusive, and most of which I am starting to doubt the veracity and sincerity.

I am not catholic, I only go to catholic church, that is all that is even close to being catholic about me. I am methodist. My church (methodist) I left because of complicated reasons…

1ke, you seem at times very bitter towards me. I left my methodist church because of domestic reasons, I joined the catholic church because it felt right to me on the first visit.

I am an erratic poster because I no longer have my ministers to talk to, all of my friends from my methodist church have left me because I no longer go to the church. I have lost everyone, all i have of my faith is Christ, CAF and my catholic church. That is enough for me alone.
When I go to my catholic church I go to be with chirst
