It will end when Jesus Christ returns. Until then, humans will be humans, frail, sinful, and in need of mercy and forgiveness, even if they are priests or bishops.

It will end when we as christians die to sin. satan is prowling the world to see whom he can devour. Priests and bishops and cardinals and popes are not exempt.

it will stop when catholics stop adressing this within the church but they get the police involved.

please note how it is only the catholic church that has these problems not the true church

Really? What true Church would that be?

SV

a church that reads gods word and doesnt hide from him and doesnt judge others and make them fear god

i go to a mordern chuch a free church where all people are welcome.

im sorry to say this buit it doesnt matter how many stations of the cross you do but if you don’t ask god inyto your life you are going to hell

“please note how it is only the catholic church that has these problems not the true church”

Huh? The human race has this problem? Teachers, Coaches, Clergy and Ministers from all different churches, even Police Officers, Fire Fighters and Social workers have been arrested and found guilty.

“it will stop when catholics stop adressing this within the church but they get the police involved.”

I agree that the first call by a parent must be to local law enforcement before the call is made to the Pastor or Diocese.

So you are asserting that any Church with sinners CANT be the True Church. Well when you find a Church that is without sinners …let me know. I am willing to be your Church contains SINNERS.

As far as Stations of the Cross…that has nothing to do with this topic.

I think the problem is systemic throughout society. The Catholic church has had this scandal exposed. I think abuse is a much much more widespread problem than people think as our society has denigrated sexuality and separated it from the creative process.

On the other point you raised:

According to Jesus Christ, the Catholic Church is the one true church. He explicitly founded his Church on Peter, the first Pope. You know this if you have been hanging out on these forums. Believe it. Men are fallible, but Christ’s Truth is proclaimed infallibly by His Church backed by Christ’s explicit promise in Scripture. Look around and see that while men fail, the Church upholds Christ’s doctrines. In the midst of these scandals, it is a great comfort for all people, including the victims, who need our prayers.

im not saying that any church is without sinners as all humans that have lived are living or ever will live have sinned apart from jesus

what im saying abotu the startionbs of the cross is that doing that won’t get you any closer to god

I’m so happy you set us straight on this. It is good to know that we now can turn to you for all our spritual needs.

Here’s what you said, and I quote:

"please note how it is only the catholic church that has these problems not the true church"

Now you have changed your position. So you need to retract this previous comment. You now acknowledge that there are no Churches without sinners.

The stations of the Cross have nothing to do with what you originally said (as quoted).

kk what i ment was the catholic church appers to have more problems than others

sorry it came out wrong i did not mean that the true church has no sinners

i take back that statement
:o

“where does it say in the bible that peter was the first pope?”

Well Let’s see I’d start with Acts and then many of St. Pauls letters oh and don’t forget the Gospels. For the most part but not limited to the New Testament! (I’m sure others will post individual passages)

As far as the devotion of praying the Stations of The Cross. Why would reflecting and contemplating on the sufferingand death of Jesus Christ not bring us any closer to Him?

he was a man of god but it says nothing of him being a pope

and about the sotc you can relect on the suffering yes but it is given as a punnishment during confestion and becuse of jesus we dont have to do anything to be forgiven apart from forgiving

Catholics that I know, including myself do not “live in fear”. But fear in and of itself–particularly if we are tempted to sin is not a bad thing!

so you have . . .
4:18. Fear is not in charity: but perfect charity casteth out fear, because fear hath sin. And he that feareth is not perfected in charity.
but you also have . . .
2:12. Wherefore, my dearly beloved, (as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only but much more now in my absence) with fear and trembling work out your salvation.
And they are not contradictory any more than we fallible humans are contradictory. We should fear to offend God, but also know that the highest thing is to Love God and there will be no fear when that is perfected, I think.

You pose a good question, so I hope you understand with me that Catholics do not “live in fear” but we do fear to offend the Lord knowing we are fallible and we also seek to Love the Lord as the highest commandment.
