Here’s another example of an opinion that a correction to a widespread problem resting totally upon, and ONLY, the Catholic Church. What makes this a scandal is the size and time period. It involves heiarchy and cover-up. It is a national/international event. Is anyone here advocating that the media leave this story alone? Would anyone feel different if they were the victim or one of their children a victim? All of this should be obvious.
Everyone wants to blame the media or the culture. The church should have involved law enforcement involved from the start. They didn’t and now are paying a very high price. What is sad is that the CC is bring down all of christendom in their attempts to keep themselves out of hot water.
As you state, ‘What is sad is that the CC is bring down all of christendom in their attempts to keep themselves out of hot water’, I have to ask if you think any prominent Christian that commits this, or other horrendous, sins has any impact on ALL of Christendom? You appear to say that ONLY the Catholic Church impacts ALL of Christendom. Are non-believers not affected when they see a prominent Christian caught in a sinful act?
