Perhaps not an emotion, rather a show of warmth or a sign that you care, love or feel something.I noticed 1/2 way through that i was typing in caps…not yelling just to lazy to unlock the caps.
So dont take it personally linnyo.
So shaking hands is an emotion now???
Solitude in worship does not show warmth or caring. Reaching out to shake a hand could be the closest some people get to warmth and caring. Think of how it must be to be the lonliest person in the church. You are brave enough to stretch your hand towards somebody and you get snubbed. Ouch! I am not a huggy cuddly person - not in the slightest but I love tha feeling that I am united in some way with the people around me. A handshake is a simple sign of unity and peace but it is not OTT. It does not put anybody at risk.
I am presuming that handshaking is not an issue in Scotland as I have never known anybody to not participate. In fact, many participate so fully that they shake hands with up to 10 people. Maybe Scots people are friendlier than other nationalities. That would be a great honour to be amongst the friendliest of people.
