Sheriff Dupnik just inferred at a press conference that he would like to see the return of insane asylums.

Sheriff again decries “rhetoric of hatred, mistrust of govt, paranoia about govt” that inflames public daily, esp unbalanced people.

Sheriff also decries Arizona legislature for enacting gun laws that let nearly anybody buy and carry a gun.
Figures. Big Democrat, Big Speech And Spin.

Ironically, it was a Person carrying a Concealed Weapon that managed to set off Some Shots at the Shooter and may have managed to distract Him long enough for Him to Run Out Of Clips and be Disabled/Captured. 👍

The Left, which just waits for something like this to happen so they can then hope and pray that there is some evidence that the nut listened to Glenn Beck or Rush Limbaugh once or twice and then use that to get them off the air, is predictably doing their little dance.

The most blatantly hypocritical of the Left-wing phonies so far appears to be Markos Moulitsas of the DailyKos, patterico.com/files/2011/01/Markos-1.jpg who was last night trying to tie the shooting to Sarah Palin, because she had once put out a facebook blog saying it’s time to “target” these congressmen in the coming election, and included Gabrielle Giffords as one of the “targets”.

Only problem for the hypocrite Markos Moulitsas is he did the SAME THING targeting congressmen with a BULLSEYE and included Gabrielle Giffords in his little rant. Of course he tried to scrub the evidence from his web site, but screen captures of the page have already been saved;

not to mention other bloggers on his hate filled little website saying that Gabrielle Giffords “is dead to me” for not voting for Pelosi a couple of days ago. This post has also been scrubed from DailyKos. hillbuzz.files.wordpress.com/2011/01/screen-shot-2011-01-08-at-1-56-04-pm1.png

The way the left tries to rewrite history so they can paint their opponents as inspiring violence is downright Owellian.

What about the gun laws that do NOT let anybody buy a gun? Is the Sheriff going to enforce those laws, or is he just looking for an excuse that he isn’t doing his job? My neighbor, by law, shouldn’t have guns, and the PA State Police knows that and knows he has them.

One of the last state hospitals was just closed in Allentown. The patients will either be turned loose in the community, or will be the responsibility, and budget liability, of excuse makers like Dupnik.

PS. My neighbor is an Obamite.

Interesting article in Slate today:

For as long as I’ve been alive, crosshairs and bull’s-eyes have been an accepted part of the graphical lexicon when it comes to political debates. Such “inflammatory” words as targeting, attacking, destroying, blasting, crushing, burying, knee-capping, and others have similarly guided political thought and action. Not once have the use of these images or words tempted me or anybody else I know to kill. I’ve listened to, read—and even written!—vicious attacks on government without reaching for my gun. I’ve even gotten angry, for goodness’ sake, without coming close to assassinating a politician or a judge.

From what I can tell, I’m not an outlier. Only the tiniest handful of people—most of whom are already behind bars, in psychiatric institutions, or on psycho-meds—can be driven to kill by political whispers or shouts. Asking us to forever hold our tongues lest we awake their deeper demons infantilizes and neuters us and makes politicians no safer.

The call by Sheriff Dupnik and others to take our political conversation down a few notches might make sense if anybody had been calling for the assassination in the first place, which they hadn’t. And if they had, there are effective laws to prosecute those who move language outside of the metaphorical. I can’t be overly critical of the sheriff. After all, he’s the one who has spent his career witnessing how threats can turn into violence: gang wars, contract killings, neighborhood rows, domestic disputes, bar arguments, and all the rest.

Hard to believe. What would a true leftist, who is supposed to be for gun control, be doing with a gun in a shopping center?

Try not to project ideas okay and than maybe someone will take you seriously.
Do you really, really think that no one on this Forum takes me seriously? Are you not aware that I get into discussion and even arguments with the conservatives on this Forum and that they respond to what I say, whether they agreed with me or not (the most likely!)? If they did not take me seriously, I’d never get anyone to reply to a single one of my posts. So much for your accusation.

Did I make a statement? I was asking a question and just wondering. Do you know the difference between a statement and a question? You ought to know better than to reply the way you did without knowing the difference.
Technically you did both.

What does "supposed to be " mean? They say they are for it, but is it just saying, and not meaning? Or perhaps gun control means they want to be in control of the guns, and they want to have them, and not someone else, like my Obamite liberal felon neighbor, and his gun collection?

But but but … Kos’ bullseye was a PEACEFUL bullseye … not a hate-mongering one … can’t you tell the difference?

(Yes, that was sarcasm, in case anyone wondered ;))

I may have been wrong, The most blatantly hypocritical of the Left-wing phonies so far may not be Markos Moulitsas, he’s probably only in the number two spot. The number one stop belongs to liberal icon Paul Krugman, who appears to have no shame.

I agree with other posters. I am left dumbfounded as why the right has been offering prayers and condolences for the injury to Giffords, while the left just spews unfounded hatred. The right have banded together to offer support and aid to the families of those injured or killed. What does the left do? They immediately jump on it, and start using the tragic death of innocent people to try to further their agenda. No mourning, no time for rememberance, no reverence, just pure hatred. Most embarassing to the fact that it was all pure conjecture and the more we learn about the shooter, the more is revealed that he was NOT a Rush/Beck/Fox News fan, and likely just some messed up kid.

It makes me glad I am not on the left, if this is how they treat their own.

I am wondering why you only have answered my post but have not even bothered to make a single reply to all the others that pointed out your riduculious statement(question)?

Is it because you know everyone takes you seriously?

Are you sure you want that question answered?
Well, if you and Bonigli and Catholicboy don’t take anything I say seriously and would die before responding to anything I say, that’s your right to do so. There are enough conservatives and liberals here who don’t write off my contributions to the dialogue on various threads.

Arde you so sure that No One on the left has prayed for Giffords? I’ll have you know that my wife and I offered our Mass this morning for the intention of her recovery.
It makes me glad I am not on the left, if this is how they treat their own.
Just as I am glad I am not on the right to make generalized accusations about how people of some other group or treat their own. Do youy really think that we don’t pray for others who are suffering or are in distress or have great problems? Do you really think that going to Mass is a hollow exercise for us liberals?

It’s very sad and tragic what has happened. Equally it is upsetting that some are pointing fingers out of anger at those that hold opposing political views to lay blame. Sadly in the US this kind of crazy violence is all to common in our businesses, grade schools, Universities, etc. This time the violence occurred to a politician.

Yes you did make a statement. Let me refresh your memory in case you forgot what you said 5 hours earlier:
**The Tea Partyists hated her victory over their candidate. **
You see that when you end a sentence with a period its a statement. Its when you end it with a question mark that you have asked a question.

A good example would this:
Does anyone see dots to be connected? Just wondering. 🤷
Do you have the guts to elaborate on what you said earlier or are you going to obfuscate?

Megan Kelly just put the sheriff in his place on Fox. After his typical political spew regarding “talk radio” and how one party is obstructing all attempts to better this country, she asked “Is it really the place of a sheriff to “stir the pot” at this time of tragedy”? His reply “I guess the listeners will decide”.

This man has only his political agenda in mind.
