You may not see a problem with this but the Holy Father has spoken on purposeful efforts to denigrate the faiths of others. How is painting a nice picture of Mohammed āhateā? We are subjected to Islamic law now?
I say no⦠I say Mohammed was a real man, and the history books deserve an image of him just like anyone else. We have pictures of Genghis Khan and many other warrior leaders. Mohamed is no different to us as far as real life is concerned.
ā¦Mohammed was not a prophet.
It would seem that non-Catholics donāt listen to what His All Holiness has to say on the matter. You may not see a problem with this but the Holy Father has spoken on purposeful efforts to denigrate the faiths of others.
I know.Well, these perpetrators were shot by police officers, not civilians.
And what Iām curious about is who decides what is offensive??How is painting a nice picture of Mohammed āhateā? We are subjected to Islamic law now?

If I were to paint a picture of Mohammed, within the privacy of my own home, would I be denigrating the faiths of others? You may not see a problem with this but the Holy Father has spoken on purposeful efforts to denigrate the faiths of others.
Not to me but how about these archaeological statues that ISIS has destroyed, do they somehow have this right as apparently they feel it is against their religion or offends them??If I were to paint a picture of Mohammed, within the privacy of my own home, would I be denigrating the faiths of others?
ā¦Also, how many Muslims were invited to the contest?![]()
Who was more wrong, in your opinion, the group that organized the show or the men who planned to kill them? What has the Holy Father said about efforts to specifically denigrate religious groups?
This Pro-America Freedom Defense front Initiative of Freedom is simply a hate group.
But for a lot of the Extremists, letās not forget that merely a portrait of Mohamed is offensive; so even if one did a respectful depiction of him, that is still wrong to a number of persons. What I feel that the creators, organizers and
participants of these events fail to understand is that the mocking of any faith is to diminish all faiths and once that work is complete what else will be torn down?
If I stand back and look at whatās being done (not just to whom) I start to see what will become a pattern of taking what is meaningful to people and identifiable with organized groups of people and systematically destroying collective identities in the belief that by getting rid of what binds us together we will no longer be a threat to one another. What is hoped is at the end of this scheme the only things human beings will be allowed to claim is ethnicity and language but nothing else that could unite a group under a shared identity.
I am thinking of the lyrics of āImagineā. If you look at what Lennonās dream version of humanity consist of, it is a humanity of disconnected individuals with nothing to join them together but the shared emotion of āloveā. No religion, conflict, governmental, national, etc. identity. If Lennon had lived today he might thrown in, āno gender to define us-no him and her just you and Iā.
Some people are so afraid of being offended, feeling pain, having to wrestle with the question of right and wrong and ultimately having to stand up for what they have a right to believe that they would rather we all be forced to live in a sterile world where nothing is sacred, no one is allowed to speak in ways that might offend and the search for truth is boiled down to the idea that there should be no differences in anyone. Nothing that āthreatensā in any way.
If this is accomplished and this neutralized humanity is achieved what would be the point of being human? We shouldnāt just live to war with one another or to hate for itās own sake but living to just be passive and docile will result in a species devoid of feelings including the āloveā that Lennon was so fond of upholding as the bedrock of his sought after utopia. Utopia is not something we achieve in life on earth and no matter what we do to manipulate humanity we will never achieve universal, collective perfection.
āImagineā
Imagine thereās no heaven
Itās easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for todayā¦
Imagine thereās no countries
It isnāt hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peaceā¦
You may say Iām a dreamer
But Iām not the only one
I hope someday youāll join us
And the world will be as one
Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the worldā¦
You may say Iām a dreamer
But Iām not the only one
I hope someday youāll join us
And the world will live as one
Well, his Holiness has a problem because to many folks-- support for any other religion or viewpoint is āhate speechā against Islam. You may not see a problem with this but the Holy Father has spoken on purposeful efforts to denigrate the faiths of others.
The dubious point that people shouldnāt be shot for drawing a caricature of Mohammed? Iām not sure Iād agree with your characterization. Would you similarly defend a Catholic for shooting someone who drew an unflattering caricature of the Blessed Mother? It is funny that a group that has no known record of violence or even advocating violence is labeled a āhate groupā.In my view, it is unnecessarily provocative to organise an event of this nature, for the sole purpose of proving some kind of dubious point.
I see Ms Geller was refused entry to the UK, as her organisation is classified as a hate group here, under our laws.
Yeah, interesting that Christians can be fined $135K for refusing to sell their services to celebrate a ceremony that violates their religious beliefs. And in fact the Christian baker or florist is labeled hateful for doing soā¦The dubious point that people shouldnāt be shot for drawing a caricature of Mohammed? It isnāt diminishing all faiths. All faiths are not connected to each other. False religions are not equal with true religion and we are not morally obliged to treat them as if they were. What I feel that the creators, organizers and

That may be the goal of socialists and āglobal elitesā who promote world government, but that isnāt the goal of goofy cartoonists. If I stand back and look at whatās being done (not just to whom) I start to see what will become a pattern of taking what is meaningful to people and identifiable with organized groups of people and systematically destroying collective identities in the belief that by getting rid of what binds us together we will no longer be a threat to one another. That song expresses the dreary, materialistic world-view of socialism.I am thinking of the lyrics of āImagineā. Here is the winner from Pamela Gellerās site, peopleās choice and jury prize:Pretty sure we wonāt be seeing the winning cartoon on CA!
