Well thinking about this some more it could be it is that both intent and how are being depated. But more so the how. You say you want to hear or be shown a different how. Thier were other posters earlier in this thread that tried explaining to you how and you seemed to take each one of them as personally attaching Pamela Geller’s intent and seemed to have no desire to learn here might be a better how. I wish I had the time to share or try to explain but I really do need to get back to my responsibilities as a mother and wife and in thinking about it I am not even sure I could share it adequetly anyway. What others attempted earlier was far better than me even trying and they make more sense and sound much more coherent than I can.

You missed the part where people committing the ultimate blasphemy ought not to be commended for their guts.

Their choices are nothing like that of a Pamela Geller.

From your comment, it seems to me, the pope prefers martyrs blood then a vigorous defense of freedom. It is a prudential choice. At least for now, behind the modern nation’s armies, you and he are free to decide for yourselves what stand you will take.

Not so much the Christians in the Middle East or the Ethiopians in Libya,or those Christians in Kenya Nigeria and on and on in the 59 countries dominated by Islam. Their choice is to shut up and maybe they will let you live.

I hope we in this country will never prefer to live on our knees rather than die on our feet

If you’re one of the people trying to shift blame for the attack from the attackers to Geller, than you arguably are justifying murder. If you’re not, then you’re not. If the Pope is blaming Geller for the attack, then he’s wrong too, but I don’t think that’s what he’s doing.

I really do not beleive anyone, exspecially those on this thread, has been trying to “shift” blame.
They have only been trying to hold each side accountable for what they beleive is each side’s share of the blame.

This is the point. Pam Geller is making a stand now and we all owe her a debt of gratitude, EVEN IF we disagree with her tactics.

The gospels were pretty clear about it, the answer is no, He accepted the Father’s will. However, that doesn’t preclude our defense of the freedoms we have been given as part of our inalienable rights.

Now, do you believe the Lord prefers ISIS snuff films?
 
When the expectation is death and threats of death for speaking one’s mind in America, that is a real loss for freedom.
I don’t think that the pope is okay with that either. He never spoke out much against freedom, as far as I know.

To the extent that you don’t submit, and you do speak out where against what it is you disagree with, and to the extent that you are a big enough target, you can expect death and death threats.
