Do you think women should all wear birkas as well if some Muslims see that Western clothes as inciting hate or disrespectful of Islam? Perhaps all persons convert to Islam as well?

That’s the deal, it is imposing their values, their law on us.
You are drifting further and further away from the point of my post. My post was about the potential for unintentional consequences form inciting hate and not about any particular religion or custom.

Okay, you and others call it inciting hate, this issue has been brought up on this thread already, others do not see it as inciting hate. So, nonetheless, this is merely subjective.

Do you consider Bill Maher a hatemonger or having incited hate? It’s funny, we are only on this tangent because who did this was Pamela Geller.

Though I’d disagree strongly with what Bill Maher has said, I have hardly ever heard this description ascribed to him or others who have said bitter unpleasant things.

I doubt if Bill Donahue has ever ascribed the term to Maher and his kind.

In fact, I believe Maher ended up on some lists only after his critiques on Islam. Before tasteless remarks on the Palins or Christians and Catholics met with little dissent outside of Christians and Catholics.

You insist on adding more and more variables which I won’t respond to. For the record, I am against inciting hate regardless of who or where it comes from as well as senseless acts of violence. You don’t have to be a genius to know that a shooting contest at Muhammad cartoons is not only disrespectful but will incite hate or to anticipate reactions from extremists. Thus don’t be surprised when unintended consequences happen.

Good. You insist we take yours’ and others’ definition of incitement of hate. We are suppose to accept this variable but these others are out of bounds. Got it!

You went off topic and I refused to join you. If you want to discuss the Muhammad cartoon contest and how such a disrespectful act incites hate I have no objections If you are interested in discussing Bill Maher you can start a new topic.

If you were responding to my post please read what I wrote. If you incite hate be prepared for unintended consequences.
I’m not saying I hope for it, but if the Green Dome was hit by a missile, and all that lie within it were incinerated, the only thought that would cross my mind is that it was meant to be after all the broken statues and destroyed religious works of art that the Islamists destroyed. Oh, and not to mention death threats against the Pope and ‘Rome’.

…So yes, those who incite hate should be prepared for unintended consequences.

You must be confused. In case you didn’t read what I wrote, here it is again “I condone neither hate nor violence.” And let me add, “I pray for the forgiveness of both those who spread hate and those that create violence.”

No, you went off topic, You or others are just pulling out of the air accusing others of hate mongering or inciting hate or violence and that is off-topic. This is about a cartoon contest if you did not notice.

I can defend my point. Thank you.

Pamela Geller is being applauded in some circles, she definitely exposed the evil of radicalism existing on these shores. 👍

Islam means submission I gather. I wonder what next those who want to submit will want. To make sure adulterers are stoned?

What has the Holy Father said about efforts to specifically denigrate religious groups?

This Pro-America Freedom Defense front Initiative of Freedom is simply a hate group.
:rotfl:

Should’ve know the left would come out swinging like this. After all, people claiming to be Muslims were offended!:eek:

And it’s too bad really, because the whole accusation of “HATE” which permeates every single progressive argument just did in the whole point that making fun of religious figures just means trouble…

There is no sin, and no hatred, in anyone drawing a picture of Mohammed or any one else.
Graphic arts are a tradition as ancient as Christianity itself, and it is the iconoclasts in Christian tradition who have been deemed to be the heretics.

There is a sin however, in falsely labeling people as hate-mongers. As Dennis Prager constantly reminds us though, honesty is not a left wing value.

You may not see a problem with this but the Holy Father has spoken on purposeful efforts to denigrate the faiths of others.
What about gays who sue Christian bakeries in the US?

That’s degenerating to a Faith…

Where’s the outrage from the American left there?

The Holy Father and Catholic Doctrine also supports self-defense.

The conference definitely exposes dark to light.

Amen:thumbsup: Our culture here is full of violence and to incite people to make fun of Muslims and who they hold as a holy prophet is arrogant.

Our culture really isn’t that full of violence, and nobody makes much of a fuss when people make fun of Christians or who they hold as Savior.

Islamic State’s goal is genocide of Christians, relief agency’s director warn

Catholic World News - May 08, 2015

The Islamic State is waging “an uncompromising war for a religious and territorial cleansing of Christians and other minorities in the Middle East,” the American director of Aid to the Church in Need (ACN) said in a May 7 address to a Hudson Institute conference in New York.
