The incident yesterday with the vehicular murder was attributed to an ISIS wannabe (according to sunnews.ca).

As for today’s acts in Ottawa, while it certainly seems to be an act of terrorism in the truest sense (much like the shootings in Moncton, NB, in June), I haven’t heard of any link to any terrorist group, jihadists or otherwise. I admit, it was the first thing that crossed my mind, especially in light of the killings yesterday, but, when I look back to the murders in Moncton, you never know. In the former, it was just an anti-cop out to terrorise the police with no (known) ties to any organization.

So, we’ll just have to pray for those impact by the senseless acts and wait for answers.

If you want to see Canadian coverage that is not afraid to be politically INcorrect, Sun New is the best. CBC (national broadcaster) not so much.

Agreed, although I would add that the CBC is very left of center in their political views.

Federal sources have identified the suspected shooter as Michael Zehef-Bibeau, a man in his early 30s who was known to Canadian authorities.

Sources told The Globe and Mail that he was recently designated a “high-risk traveller” by the Canadian government and that his passport had been seized – the same circumstances surrounding the case of Martin Rouleau-Couture, the Quebecker who was shot Monday after running down two Canadian Forces soldiers with his car.

The man police are investigating as the possible suspect in the Ottawa shootings, Michael Zehaf-Bibeau, is believed to have been a Canadian convert to Islam.

Two US officials told Reuters that US agencies have been advised that the shooter was a Canadian convert to Islam. One of the officials said that the man was from Quebec.

Seems Ottawa seized Zehaf-Bebeau’s passport when he tried to travel to Turkey, presumably to join ISIS in Syria or Iraq.

It would seem, given the pattern that seems to be developing, that it might be beneficial if the RCMP brought the other individuals in for questioning who also have been denied travel for radical connections. I believe yesterdays news said there were about 45 of them, so it’s not an impossible task.

It might just turn up some additional information and prevent another attack.

Dark day in Canadian history, hopefully lessons are learned and changes are made.

My prayers to our dear neighbor’s to the North. It is sad to see what conversion to Islam is doing to young people…perhaps a need to feel wanted, important, special…but with such violence…I am concerned and would think others who say they are peaceful Muslim would especially be concerned also yet… I would like to hear more from them. As a Christian I would be outraged to find any Christian doing this (for their faith!) and be so outspoken about this!! Prayer dear Lord that Your loving Truth reign in a time of wickedness and evil, Amen.

Although Canadian police have not released the name of the Ottawa shooter, on Wednesday afternoon U.S. sources leaked that the suspect’s name is Michael Zehaf Bibeau, a 32-year-old Canadian who was a recent convert to Islam.
Mr. Bibeau’s name was first broadcast by CBS, allegedly via U.S. intelligence sources who had been in contact with their Canadian counterparts.
Later, Reuters also cited U.S. sources in confirming that Mr. Bibeau was a recent convert to Islam and may have been born with the name Michael Joseph Hall.

It seems to be a related story seeing how the attack 2 days ago was a “car attack”.
Jerusalem car ‘attack’ kills baby at rail station
A three-month-old girl was killed and eight other people were injured when a car hit them at a Jerusalem tram stop.
Police say the driver was a Palestinian from East Jerusalem. He was shot by officers as he tried to run away and later died of his injuries in hospital.
Officials say they are treating it as a “terrorist attack” and that the suspect had previously served time in an Israeli prison “for terrorism”.
Local media report that the suspect’s teenage brother has been arrested.
At least, they are calling it terrorism.

Mark Steyn calls it “an attack on the Canadian state”

nation.foxnews.com/2014/10/22/%E2%80%98-assault-canadian-state%E2%80%99-mark-steyn-condemns-ottawa-terror-attack
Steyn also remarked how the Premier of Quebec had reportedly called another terror attack earlier in the week a ‘spontaneous act of extremism’.
In that attack, a man hit and killed a soldier with his car in the town of St-Jean-sur-Richlieu, PQ, about halfway between Montreal and Plattsburgh, N.Y., USA.
“Euphemisms you take refuge in become more and more absurd,” the oft-Rush Limbaugh Program guest-host said.
“If you don’t fight the ideology, you’re part of the problem,” Steyn said

😦 This is so scary. My prayers are with Corporal Nathan Cirillo, Warrant Officer Patrice Vincent, and their families.

May God keep our land glorious and free. :signofcross:

Fox coverage this morning included the opening of today’s session of the Canadian Parliament. When the Sergeant at Arms, Kevin Vickers entered and took his place, the MPs gave him a minutes-long standing ovation.

According to the accompanying reportage, Vickers saw what was happening, went to his office, got his pistol, went back out into the hallway, and stopped the terrorist by emptying a clip into him. Footage run on Fox showed Vickers with his pistol still in his hand.

NRA Executive Vice President Wayne LaPierre was correct when he said two years ago, “The only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun.”

Several talking heads on Fox News have called the incidents yesterday and today an act of terrorism. Now to determine who’s responsible.
Oh and it should be considered a terrorist attack, even if it called a workplace violence.

In my post above I forgot to mention that according to the information that I have, the “weapons” carried by the soldiers guarding the War Memorial were non-functional display items. Putting a trained soldier out in public with a non-functional weapon – is that really a good idea?

In my opinion. it is beyond stupid to order a well trained member of the armed forces to guard/ perform their assigned duty with a decoy weapon! If this has not stopped as of yesterday how will we ever protect anything! How long has it been since the US Marines were assigned to protect the Embassy in Lebanon without ammunition ?
Please do not let this craziness continue. The Islamic Zombies are out there!
