There is always the risk that the girl may not like who you are.

A decent girl would probably not know about the reputation of the experienced man, if this man was clever in covering up his tracks.

My numerous relationships have been fast and furious. I do not really give my heart away, I only give part of it, as I have a roving eye. Sometimes different parts of it are given to different girls. (Not married yet, so this roving eye is not adultery/sin)

The prize is the successful conquest of the girl! Experience allows you to speak better and make wiser decisions with the girl.
Conquest?

And an experienced man “covering his tracks” about previous relationships?

Sounds like a possessive, deceptive, immature man who objectifies his “prize.” Definitely not a man I would want to date, much less marry. I thank God for my wonderful husband!

Objectify? Well, a Irish friend who served in the British Paras had the 6 Ps -

Prior
Planning
Prevents
P*ss
Poor
Performance

I repeat, not performance.

A relationship is not about you getting what you want and you proving you’re a superman.

Once you understand this, we can talk about what it actually is about.

A ‘true’ relationship is about a man coming home to a loving wife who provides him ‘comfort’ after a hard day’s work.

***I work outside of the home…it’s about us both comforting one another. 😉 I will say my husband works more hours than me…and I try to make his life easier, by greeting him with a smile, hug, food…but, again, when he has days off, and I’m working, he greets me with the same. 🙂

"True’ relationships are about sacrifice on both parts of the husband and wife. I’m sure you meant it that way, right? ;)***

Again, I think we are on completely different wavelengths here.

A “true” relationship is about a partnership for the good of both the man and the wife, and for raising and educating children. (That’s in the Catechism.) The definition you provided is a lot more narrow as to what that means… I think the “good” of both spouses means that we are to help each other get the Heaven.

Is this the very definition of a derailed thread? 😉

😃 ha For a moment, I didn’t know what thread I was in. 😛

Can. 1055 §1. The matrimonial covenant, by which a man and a woman establish between themselves a partnership of the whole of life and which is ordered by its nature to the good of the spouses and the procreation and education of offspring, has been raised by Christ the Lord to the dignity of a sacrament between the baptized.

That is true relationship. Your “comfort” implies anything from wait service to sexual services and is demeaning to the woman. Your post mentions a loving wife but not a loving husband. You’ve got much to think about yet, even though your post is figurative.

“Comfort women” is the WW2 Japanese army term for women forced into prostitution, by the way.

A decent girl is not a dumb girl… we may be innocent, but that doesn’t mean we’re naive. In fact, it is the experienced who seem rather naive sometimes, to think that they can use others without being used, and that their characters will not be evident in the end. You can hide who you are for a little while, but you can’t hide your true self from someone forever. You can’t be one person on Saturday night and another person on Sunday morning!

All that means is that you’ve never had a real relationship, because relationships are about more than what you get.

But going after a girl is like a battle if she already has a boyfriend, meaning you have to outwit him in skills.

I don’t get this. She already has a boyfriend? Then stay away. Pretend she was married. You do not need to swipe her away at all. Someone who is involved, is involved. That guy is not replaceable as you could be one day. That guy is a decision for her to make without your involvement. Chev is right, it is not about performance, or contests. When you click with someone, you click, you just know. If what you crave is the marriage vocation, find someone single and emotionally unattached in the beginning. Do you always approach women who are in relationships already?

You outwit your opponent but a war without rules of engagement is sheer banditry. In that case, it is not even a war but at most a competition. The other man has done nothing wrong to you, he only has something which you want.

It could be acceptable to try and convince a girl to leave her boyfriend for you, depending on the methods you used and some other aspects of it. It would not be acceptable to meet her behind his back or otherwise lie and deceive. You don’t do to people what you don’t want them to do to you.

👍

Then stay away? To get humiliated publicly? Of course not. And it is not a sin to try to seduce someone’s girlfriend as they are not married, and it is not stealing or banditry as women are not someone’s property until they are married.

Anyone who plays within the rules is likely to lose. One has to be innovative and ruthless.

But look at it this way: someone who is willing to cheat in a relationship is not someone you should want to date! If she cheats on her boyfriend with you, she obviously will have no moral qualms about cheating on you once you are her boyfriend.

Ah well, who cares about her qualms, a night out with a knock out babe is a night out with a knock out babe

***Coveting someone’s girlfriend and ‘ruthlessness’ are NOT Catholic traits. :o As Father Corapi states, if Catholics look like everyone else in the world, how will anyone ‘know’ we are Catholic? ***
