There are number of supermarkets around here that have the milk, cheese, butter, etc. entirely managed by the supplying dairies. That way the dairies have better control over product expiration, more accurate batch management, and the ability to respond quickly and effectively in the event of product recall. The supermarkets benefit greatly from lower internal cost even though individual supplier price may be higher.

I started my business out of my upstairs bedoroom. Ewing Kaufman(marion laboratories) started his businees in his basement, bill gates started in his garage. its not the capital that keeps people from starting their own business- its the leap of faith one has to make to walk away from a paying job.And having made that leap and suceeding it is quite bothersome that people who are afraid to take those chances want to restrict the way i do business.
Or you could to work for a company, build up some good contact and attract investors.

Also build interest from others, network at large in the industry and related fields, and like you say, maintain lots of contacts with others in the field. Get to know people personally.

When it comes to the morality of business decisions, I don’t think business owners have a monopoly on the truth. Now, I think business owners can provide useful information on the problem, but their perspective is often limited to their own particular situation, which may not be generalizable.
Does your limited experience includes starting and operating your own business.? And if you don’t want to depend on the experience of those who run businesses just what do you think should be depended on? Tenured professors who have no or Word experience? Politicians looking for a vote? Disaffected employees jealous because there boss makes more than them. Or so-called researchers to know exactly what should be done because their solutions worked in every term paper they ever wrote?
There are people who firmly believe their imagination trumps everyone else’s real-world experience.
