Why is the pope referred to as Lord God?
 
I have been Catholic for 36 years and I have never heard the pope referred to as ‘Lord God’. If you think it means that Catholics think the pope is God, that is simply not true.

2 Timothy 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

Revelation 2:16 Repent; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will fight against them with the sword of my mouth.

Right. And now you’re playing the martyr, are you? You can quote one chapter and verse, this is hardly sufficient for what is contained in all 73 books of the Bible and what it really says, but, let’s keep this on topic, shall we? This thread was started regarding an allegation about Christ’s Representative here on Earth. And you were pwnd.

And now you modified your post to add the Revelation verse.

pwnd? I simply responded to you how you responded to me. Only, I used the Bible. Is there something wrong with modifying a post? I added scripture, you should be happy. I’m sticking to the Bible and not personal attacks.

Yes, you were pwnd. You were shown where you were wrong, how you erred, HOW YOUR SOURCE WAS MADE UP, and you are not looking at the truth but, choosing to remain in your goo pod. That’s fine. You want to take the blue pill, pretend that you have truth, that’s your choice.

You are choosing to defend your pride rather than look at the truth provided.

Wait, back up…What does the rest of the books in the Bible say? Lets discuss

Jesus is the Rock.
Death means sleep.
No immediate Heaven.
No purgatory.
His name title equals 666.
Jesus is the way and no one else.
No biblical evidence for the Eucharist.
Infant baptism.
Praying to dead people.
Putting merit in relics.

Since you know what these books say, provide evidence for what you believe and do.

I seek truth in the Bible. Not once did you “prove me wrong”

Those things were said and some of them still are. I have even read on the website some of those things said by catholics. That’s blasphemy and you know it. Those things go against the same Bible that you claim supports the fact that the catholic church is the True church. You can’t have it both ways.

Lets put the Bible first, and everything else aside.
 
First you say it is “out of context” then you say it’s made up. Which one is it? Or will you say it’s both?

Three pages and that’s what it boils down to when you get past the passive-agressive condescention you have been posting. See, that is your belief. That’s all you needed to say kindly instead of provided outside fictional sources to rationalize your views.

The Bible says to put the Church first; the Bible says it’s not solitarily sufficient, but, well, what are the chances that if you wont accept that your initial post’s source is fiction, and you try to bait by asking a comparison between God and the Pope, I doubt you’d listen to the Bible. You already have your mind made up, nomatter what has been said. I will pray for your humility.

Secondly, there are so many problems with what you are posting. You are saying that catholics believe the pope is God veiled in flesh, yet we…CATHOLICS…are telling you that we do NOT believe that at all, then you use an obscure quote that can’t be attributed credibly to anyone.

This would be the same as me saying “protestants believe Martin Luther was the TRUE messiah, and we must worship him” because some catholic periodical printed, several years ago, that a protestant leader was credited as saying this.

Better yet, lets say a protestant DID say that. Just because ONE protestant leader said that hundreds of years ago, doesn’t mean it’s what protestants believe! Same is the case here.

If you want to know what catholicism teaches and what catholics believe, you are better off sticking to the Catechism, rather than anti-catholic/catholic bashing websites…

Can’t you see it? You and others of your faith don’t agree. Some are saying, it was said but taken out of context, while others are saying it wasn’t said.

Also, why is scripture rarely used to support claims on this website?

Remember to be charitable. Even if somebody says something ridiculous or just doesn’t understand what you’re trying to say to them, you need to answer with respect. Even if they’re disrespectful to you.

If you laugh at them, they’ll dislike you, see you as the enemy, and refuse to think logically, becoming only interested in “beating you in the argument” and not in trying to find the truth.

Be careful! If you say the right thing in the wrong way, you’ll do more damage than good. In this case especially, it’s clear that the OP is just as much the victim of fanciful anti-Catholic fables as he is guilty of spreading them.
