OK, other than the centerpiece, the Rosary and Divine mercy chaplet can be identical 🙂

I enjoy doing beading and jewelry making. Seeing all these beautiful rosaries has me wanting to make one. Being non Christian, I’d have to give it to a Catholic friend…I know a few…I’d have no need of it but would enjoy making one!

Any good books out there on the history of the making of the Rosary you can recommend?

This wooden beaded rosary’s got a lot of miles on it. Bought it and prayed on it many years ago, long before I converted (thank you, Mary!). I’ve repaired it so many times. These days I keep it on my bedside table and pray it before sleep. Next to me here right now.

Praised be Jesus Christ, now and forever.

I probably have six or eight rosaries/chaplets but these are the three I use on a regular basis. All of them were made by Holy Rocks on Amazon using Flexwire, so they’re more durable than chains but cheaper than wire wrapped (though not “cheap” as in $5-$10). My priest exclaimed over the workmanship when I asked for them to be blessed.

  • Right - standard-order Rosary that I use for family rosaries with my husband and his kids (we have an inherited handmade ceramic bowl where everyone’s rosaries live, that’s kept in the living room)
  • Middle - custom-order rosary that lives in my purse on one side of a two-sided pouch, and is used any other time I pray the rosary, so I actually use it more often.
  • Left - custom-order Chaplet of the Blessed Sacrament, which I say at Adoration and during Communion at Mass, since I am currently barred from receipt. It also lives in my purse, on the other side of a two-sided pouch from the rosary.

Cool to see it more common on this thread than I expected! Yours is gorgeous, did you make it yourself?

I really like them. The smaller beads in between instead of seeing chain are very nice.

The red one is not mine, I was away from mine and just put it in this thread. The job tears one below is mine.

I received it from my grandma (who died recently). By the end of her life her memory was failing her, but she still remembered how to pray the Blessed Sacrament Beads and more importantly the significance of the Blessed Sacrament.

Wood furniture polish. If you can get one designed for antiques even better.

I looked and found a really large laser etched one on Amazon.

Cordbands aka Rugged Rosary at least in the past offered all their medals in gunmetal but I think they were only available with the purchase of a rosary. Maybe they could put you in touch with a seller or even sell them separately.

I checked then out, unfortunately there is no Saint Joseph medal in Gun metal… Only silver.

You can enpmail corbands customer services they actually hold over 150 medals they dont have the space to advertise them all. They will try and order one in for you. Fantastic customer service. They have ordered things in for me for custom work. God bless

On the right is my Pope Francis rosary. Right now there is a delicate link in the third decade due to me not taking care of it properly (due to me being careless from lack of faith at times 😔). On the left is a special gift I received when I went through RCIA. The woman who gave it to me was the wife of a man who was going through the RCIA class as well, which will be 8 years come this April 12 (which ironically is Easter :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:). I’m not sure if it was blessed by a priest before she gave it to me, but it would always find it’s way back to me whenever I misplaced it. Perhaps one of the most precious thing I own.

Time to make my own…

Looks like you have everything but the board but you can get that if you want it. I have one and it helps 😁😎

I made this rosary! Red twine.
