Shows you loved, that went off the air

I loved Joan of Arcadia and there was no getting me to leave the house on Friday evenings unless it was an emergency – and then the VCR was used. It infuriated me when they cancelled the show, just when it got edgy – ratings were used to justify it but how many times have shows taken a few season to really get going?
I hear ya! We would not make plans for Friday nights, largely due to this show…or we’d tape it and watch it over coffee and breakfast, on Sat mornings…ah, the memories. I also didn’t understand the reason they cut it–it was just developing into another plot, it seemed. The one student depicted the devil…it looked like it was getting good.

Touched by an angel also comes to mind…although, I didn’t watch that much. A friend of mine also like that medicine doctor show…starring Jane Seymour…I didn’t like that show much! LOL:p
THE SHOW WITH JANE SEYMOUR WAS " DR. QUINN-MEDICINE WOMAN". IT WAS GREAT. I REALLY MISS "TOUCHED BY AN ANGEL’ TOO.😦

The muppet show
Welcome back Carter
Mash
Dukes of Hazzard
Little house on the prairie
The Cosby Show
Family Ties
Alf
Seinfeld
Fraiser

Saturday Night Live
(I know it’s still on, but it hasn’t been funny in over 15 years)
Remember Fernando’s Hideaway? “It’s better to look good than to feel good.”
Mr. Robinson’s neighborhood?
Martin Short “I must say”

Double Dare with Marc Summers!!

I watched that all the time lol.

“The Adventures of Superman” starring George Reeves.

Because it went off the air before I was born, I only saw the reruns, but I love that show!!!

another one I loved (well, my real love for it starting mid 2nd season, but I was really upset when I got home too late from a weekend trip to Chicago for the 1st season finale), What am I talking about? Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman. They really did fans an injustice by leaving the series finale at the point they did. I was on vacation in Boston, but luckily I had set my VCR to record it. I am very lucky I did because ABC didn’t air ANY reruns that summer at all. Dean’s unfortunately had a slipping career since then, while Teri is a star of a show on ABC (Desperate Housewives).

The Screen Savers. Eyedrops. Courage the Cowardly Dog.:crying:

I remember Joan of Arcadia, it was a good show. I was sad when it was cancelled, I wanted to see her brother walk again so badly 😦

I know it ended before I was even born but I LOVE MAS*H sooo much. I never get sick of watching re-runs:rolleyes:

I think my kids watch that show, Courage…isn’t that a cartoon?
Yes, ma’am. It most certainly is. Or was. But it still parodied many of the great horror and psychological thriller movies in a cartoon, yet slightly twisted slapstick manner.

I kinda miss star trek too… The one with Picard–err, I mean Stewart.

JAG

Going back to childhood
Knight Rider
Dukes of Hazzard
Nancy Drew and Hardy Boy Mysteries
Cute cartoons (most cartoons are so ugly and obnoxious now.)

“Buffy the Vampire Slayer,” although its time had come, and the spin-off “Angel,” whose time had not yet come – on the contrary, “Angel” was getting better and better right up until it got the axe. 😦

Bounty Hunter

Big Medicine (although word is it will be back)

Joan of Arcadia

Touched by an Angel

The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr. Only lasted 2 seasons in the early 1990s. It was a quirky western like another old favorite, The Wild Wild West (not the movie with Will Smith, the old CBS series with Robert Conrad and Ross Martin).

Anyhoo, I like westerns and I like sci fi and humor. . .Brisco had a lot of that mixed in.

I love love loved that show!!! I even had my hair cut like Teri Hatcher’s main character.😊 Ok, so I really loved that show. lol

I don’t get why we don’t see Dean much…he was a doll in that show.:o

The Adventures of Brisco County–what is that? I have never heard of it in my life! LOL

Ok–then I know the show you speak of…my kids love that show…it really is pretty funny, actually…it’s offbeat humor, I like it. My kids are very much into ‘the avatar’ now…both my 11 and 15 yr old like this show…about a young Japanese boy who has powers…(thus he is called the avatar) and it is about Japanese culture. It seems interesting, I watch it with them, sometimes.
