I feel that this advertisement is inappropriate for this Forum because it is a form of bad implications. Just my opinion… 😬
I don’t get what you mean. It’s a website for single Catholics looking to meet other single Catholics. What’s wrong with that?

We, as members of this Forum, should have a choice to view it or not! It is “forced” viewing! I don’t like it and don’t want to see it anymore! Please show me where the “delete” button is…I don’t approve of this ad! 😧

So you think CAF just owes you a free forum and they don’t have the right to recoup their costs?

Again, it’s a commercial. If you’re watching tv and a commercial comes on, you can’t call the cable company and demand they “delete” the commercials for you. I get that it’s a little annoying, but the minor annoyance is the price you pay for using the site for free.

If it really bothers you so much, you can always pay for an ad-free version of the website.

Oh, an ad free website at a cost?..Yes it is annoying…that we have to view this ad just because it is a sponsor…I do feel that it is inappropriate for the Catholic Forum because it is a “dating service”…“Faith” is neglected here…a dating service is not a good reflection of my Catholic Religion…I am reconsidering my membership…Thanks for your information…

“You guys owe me a free website. I know there are costs associated with hosting, but you eat those. If there are no moderators and trolls take over, I’ll complain about the lack of moderators. But if you have moderators, you eat the cost of paying them. I want it to still be free.

If you run ads, I’ll complain if they’re secular. If you run ads specifically from catholic organizations, I’ll still complain if they’re not catholic organizations that are specifically of interest to me.

So what I want is a completely free website that someone else pays the bills for, and I either want no ads or ads that meet my personal standards and tastes that I can opt out of. Again, for free.

And again, I want you to deliver this service to me for free. I’m not going to contribute anything but I will feel free to complain.”

Wow, what a deal for Catholic Answers…

I don’t know anyone that loves ads in their viewing of internet content. It is the “cost” of a free service. Now, we have a choice where we can contribute to the costs of maintaining this website or continue to view ads, like them or not.

I have no interest in Catholic dating. I do come here every day and decided that I would contribute some money to get rid of the ads and pay my fair share of using this website. I’m not even Catholic.

Nothing is free. Facebook and twitter and google use data collection to sell ads to you. They collect and sell their data collection to others to also sell ads…and more that we don’t even realize. It’s the hidden cost of the internet…nothing is really free!

The funny thing is, that this website used to be free, and not full of ads. Ah, the good old days…

Really? CAF pays the moderators? I heard of someone being banned for a thousand years. That does seem excessive.

Yes! Isn’t the ad a sort of solicitation? So wrong for this forum… 😬

Meh

I’m willing to pay a few bucks monthly to not see that woman again.

I don’t know why you’re making it seem sleazy. It’s just a site for single Catholics looking to meet other single Catholics. It’s not a “solicitation” for sex or whatever you’re thinking.

The kind of people who seek out a specifically catholic dating site are probably not the people looking for casual sex.

Seriously, what could be wrong with Catholics looking to form relationships with other Catholics? You’re acting like it’s a front for prostitution or something.

I see men and women in the ad. Why women specifically? 🤷‍♂️
Also,
Personally, the women in the video are quite cute. It almost makes me want to be Catholic (and 25 years younger) 😁
Not to invalid your claim, but im guessing it’s stock video, and the women may or may not be Catholic.

I don’t like the ad and wish our forum would not support such ads…there are better “religious-based” sponsors…why a dating service? Dating should be a “faithful” experience not a “seeking” one. God leads us in a spiritual direction…nothing should be planned by any other group or service! Not everyone supports “dating” services"! It is awful! There are religious youth groups in the Catholic Church…a dating service is a very disrespectful ad for this forum… 🤨 😬 🙁 😧 😥 😭 😩

Matchmaking and dating services are very different! Matchmaking involved the parents! They selected the couples…not randomly done! A dating service is sort of like “window shopping”…and psychologically, usually involves people who have difficulty in meeting others…some are even seeking the service out of desperation! So sad! 😁 😻

“I don’t get it. Why is the church in demographic decline?”

scolds single Catholics for trying to meet other single Catholics

“I dunno. Truly, it’s a mystery.”

The dream is over!
