Acts 16:30

Then he brought them out and said, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?”

I am asking this same question to all Roman Catholic Christians. What must I do to be saved? Please share your answer with me.

:harp:  :blushing: 😉

but in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect, - 1 Peter 3:15

So they said, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household.” (Acts 16:31, NKJV)

((Sorry for being ‘cute’, but you gave a Biblical quote, and I replied with the verse that came after it))

So if that’s your answer, why do you want to be Roman Catholic?

Because I believe the Roman Catholic Church is the historical One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church, the Church that Christ founded and that has survived throughout the centuries (that Gates of Hell have not prevailed). They have the history, the Apostolic Succession, the Sacraments and the Scriptures (who canonized them after all?).

Okay, would you like to recant your last answer to my question. Here is the question again. What must I do to be saved?

Matthew 10:22
“You will be hated by all because of my name, but whoever endures to the end will be saved.”

That is the biblical truth! 🙂 So, who causes us to endure to the end to be saved?

I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. - Phil 2 - NIV

And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ. - ESV

For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus. - NASB

God grants us the grace to overcome our sin and persevere. For example, I have had a terrible addiction to online cybersex and that kind of thing (falling into it multiple times per day often), yet for the past week (since last Saturday), I have been totally clean of doing that kind of stuff.

It is it not because of me, because of God’s grace. I have prayed the Rosary daily since Saturday, made a novena to the Holy Spirit asking for the grace to overcome lustful addiction and, in the past couple days, when those desires have gotten strong to want to go back to doing that kind of thing, I ask St. Mary Magdalene (one of her patronages is sexual temptation) to acquire the graces for me to not fall into that sin.

Pardon me, but since you know, why do you ask? Anti-Catholicism is frowned upon here, and you are showing increasing amounts of it. In spite of your self-proclaimed wisdom, you can only lead the faithful away from Christ. You are cautioned.

Let me toss the question at you: What must I do to be Saved?
Thanks for the reverse question. I would respond with your biblical answer in post 2. Do you think the Apostle Paul was not telling us the truth?

I agree he was telling the truth. But let me ask you something: do you do good work? Have you been Baptized? Do you receive Communion at your church?

Also, if you are truly ‘Reformed’, are you Presbyterian? There is a reason I ask.

I thought obedience was important to you. Here is a command to all Christians.

If I do not sound impertinent in suggesting, I think it is important that people who are Anti-Catholic be allowed to speak and voice arguments. After all, did not our first Pope, St. Peter, advocate being able to defend why you have that hope that is in you (or…why you believe what you believe).

Again, sorry if I come off incorrectly or something. I admit I am a new (pre-RCIA, but already Baptized) Catholic and thus zealous.

Ah, but you are not inquiring, you are condemning. You simply repeat a Fundamentalist pattern that is very well known. You fool no one.

Examine your heart. You know nothing of that which you condemn.

By the grace of God, I’m just a Christian. I use the screen name Reformed to help others know my current understanding of Christianity. I am neither Presbyterian nor Baptist… just a biblical Christian.

Why the additional questions? Are they additional requirements to be saved? Would you like to change your answer in post 2 for the record?

I will answer you in a minute. When you say ‘Biblical’ Christian, I find that interesting. Who canonized Scripture or did it just drop in your lap from nowhere?

God…by His redeeming and sanctifying grace!
This is only so because I participate in allowing this grace in my life. Such as a sinner does not participate in it.

Which Bible did Saint Paul use to know how he must be saved?

Keep in mind, Reformed, two things:
  1. There’s a great deal of difference between what you mean by being saved and what the Bible means by being saved.
  2. Monoergism was condemned as a heresy by the Sixth Ecumenical Council.

I am sorry if I come across as judgmental, but I have been watching the OP for some time. He displays a well-known anti-Catholic pattern that is easily recognized. And he calls himself a “brother”. Some “holy kiss”!
