I thank God for giving us a Church willing to stand for truth and morals regardless of the difficulty. I thank God for giving me the Grace to understand the truth of the Catholic Church and for allowing/helping me to cross the tiber and come home.

I think it’s very easy to believe in such absolutes until dealing with such decisions face to face.

Absolutes are absolutes because they are absolute. There is no gray, there is no middle. Right or wrong. Good or sin. never both. Never a question when it comes to Abortion. Slaughter a baby or dont slaughter a baby… Hmm, is there a gray area there?

Does that mean that fear cannot drive a person to advocate for or obtain an abortion? No, fear is the mind killer and causes us to do all sorts of things that we shouldnt do. Should we deride those who have had abortions? Absolutely not. Should we downplay the horrific act, the mind boggling evil, of abortion so as not to offend those who cannot see the obvious sin? No.

We cannot budge on this. How can any well formed conscience be ok with killing a baby?

And please LutheranTeach, dont try to say its not a baby. You are much to intelligent to fall for that.

I find nothing to be "very easy ’ - but that’s my life.
However, the test of one’s beliefs is to be expected.
Tests are, almost by defintion, not “very easy.”

Murder is murder. She will receive her eternal judgement soon enough. May God have mercy on these abortionists.

I don’t think that we want to speak about anyone’s eternal judgment. That would be unfair and outside of our realm of authority. As people of faith we must recognize truth and identify when truth has been violated. But we must never assign moral culpability to anyone. Only Christ can do that.

Let us not forget that the last words of Christ were, “Forgive them for they know not what they do.” The cross is a place of great mercy and compassion, even for those who act contrary to revealed truth.

As a Brother of Life, I feel that my mission is to share with all people of faith, who are willing to hear me out, the great truth that God can and does forgive. Therefore, we must do as Jesus did. We must pray for those who have done wrong, not judge them or assume to know anything about their eternal judgment. We must pray for them, as Jesus prayed for us. We must pray that the life that Jesus poured out of his side into every human soul, will eventually be recognized by those who make mistakes. In recognizing that life, they may be brought to conversion.

Fraternally,

Br. JR, OSF 🙂

My question is do you kill one or two humans if that is the only option? Apparently the nun decided to save at least one human life and not loose two. From what I understand, the woman came into the ED in great distress and in imminent danger of loosing her life as well as the childs. The pregnancy was exascerbating her pulmonary hypertension and apparently nothing could be done for either of them. presumably the nun had emergency meetings and the outcome was to save the womans life.Apparently there was no time left to allow the child to grow in her woumb any longer. If this is true, then it is a hard decision. I myself was told by my md to abort at 8 weeks because of high blood pressure. I was devastated. I consulted with my previous retired gynecologist and he said there was a bp pill I could take during my pregnancy and " no problem" he said. My husband and I are thankful to his bright outlook because we have a beautiful 16 yr old girl who has been a blessing to us because we chose life. But there was no magic pill for this particular case, apparently. Just a very very hard decision the nun and patient will have to live with. We do not know all the facts and I think we should not “judge”. I just presented one senario.

Your question has no relevance for Catholics. We are allowed “to kill” no one.

There is no conscience-saving decision available to any Catholic that allows for abortion.
.
We are not allowed to abort babies. Sister decided she could do so.
She did so and in so doing excommunicated herslf.
That is the only relevant Church teaching regarding Sister’s actions.

I’m so pleased that the Nun, Sister Margaret, made the correct and moral decision to save a life.

A shame that her Church doesn’t feel the same.

I don’t think that we want to speak about anyone’s eternal judgment.
Where did I make judgement? Is it not true she will receive her ultimate judgement from God? Is it wrong for me to wish mercy on her soul?

God gave us the Ten Commandments. Thou Shall Not Kill. She will have to face God and explain why she argued against His Will.

All the innocent lives due to be aborted probably wish you made more of a defence for them, Brother of Life.

I kill you so that I might live?

No. It’s never OK.

Are you please that abortion has no legality in Canada? That you can murder a child moments before it is born?

But…if the child had not been aborted, the woman would have died, and also the child…wouldn’t that be murder, also?

My heart goes out to all involved, that must have been such a terrible ordeal in any event, I can’t even imagine. That poor family…

Working in health care, yes, we have had children die on us, and…it is just heartbreaking, the wail of a woman who has lost her child…is the worst thing I have EVER heard…ever…and coding a baby, child, teen and losing them…oh, god…

I don’t work with children anymore…at least adults have lived through the life span, but seeing a person die is hard all the same…

As Mr. T used to say: “I pity the fool …”
‘I pity the fool’ who imagines he will be talking things over with God. Really.

Does anyone actually believe that God will be asking for explanations???
God judges our souls. No question-answer required or expected.
It will not be a tea for two.

Since Brother JR has consecrated his life to saving and serving the unborn
and their mothers, it’s beyond reason to imagine he owes a response to anyone -
especially to one like you who wishes to insult him. What a lot of nerve you exhibit.

But…if the child had not been aborted, the woman would have died, and also the child…wouldn’t that be murder, also?

NO. We have no right to KILL - even to KILL one to “save” another.

I’ve been there too. The screams stay with you forever -
or at least until we die. The loss is heart-wrenching for the mother and family.

Please, cite your sources where babies are purposely killed seconds before birth.

I’m so pleased that this statement is coming from a well-known and self-referencing materialist who feels that her existance will cease upon her death and who is no friend of the Catholic Church

.You delight in her excommunication which was no doubt devastating to her and her colleagues and family and to we her larger family in the Body of Christ.I really feel that you are not here to learn about Catholicism but just to taunt and I will pray for your soul, which i can assure you,you possess.
