I had to laugh a little when I read…‘here come the tambourines.’ LOL I hope things work out for you! Keep praying…and please try not to skip mass…it’s there to nourish you.

I miss Mass when I don’t go, but when I go, I am left very empty. I am going to try the other parish where they are going to have Latin Masses! I can’t wait. I just hate that my parish doesn’t follow the way it’s supposed to be. Everything else about the parish is great, but I mostly want to be celebrating the Mass.

Another possibility would be to go to Adoration at church.

Great suggestion. Of course I don’t know the OP’s exact location, but masstimes.org shows lots of Adoration times in Mrytle Beach. On the one hand, I’m surprised that churches with Adoration would have such awful liturgies. On the other hand, I’ve found that the more orthodox folks tend to quitely flock to the Adoration chapel.

St Mary Our Lady of Ransom in Georgetown, SC is a hundred years old and a very beautiful church. It is reverent and traditional. When you walk in you really feel like you are in church. Try it if you havent. Its worth the 35 miles if you want a more traditional mass.

My whole thing is this: if the music disrupts one’s concentration from Mass and the Eucharistic sacrifice, then it’s the wrong music.

When the emotion of the music supercedes the Sacrifice of the Mass, then it’s the wrong music because one is concentrating on the musical effect rather than on the Mass itself.
