 Where do you go to ask the One True Church? Do you call someone on the phone or go to a church? What?
I recommend that one take an attitude of humility.

James 1:21
welcome with meekness the implanted word that has the power to save your souls.

The Word has been implanted in the Church by Jesus HImself. We can welcome with meekness this Word into ourselves.

A more noble way to receive the Teaching is with eagerness, as opposed to the resistance you have demonstrated from your very first post here at CAF:

Acts 17:11
" These Jews were more receptive than those in Thessalonica, for they welcomed the message very eagerly"

If you are not meek, eager, and receptive to what the Church has to teach, you will have a very difficult time accessing it.

This is why I keep telling you that the Teachings are not available to you. You lack the proper disposition of the heart. 🤷

All believers are meant to be in God’s Church, the Catholic Church. The NT was indeed written by Catholics for Catholics, that is by members of His Church for members of His Church.
🍿 Lets try picking Nits. So everyone is meant to be in God’s Church, how do we Reach them? Throw the Bible at them? No, By Living our Faith. That is how the Church Grew rapidly in First 3 centuries, by those going to watch the gore of early Persecutions, witnessing the unflinching Faith of the earliest Christians. The word Catholic was begun over Century after Christ.

What tradition or holy Words of The Church ever said that the NT was written for Catholics mainly or only?

Tony, JA4 rejects the authority of Christ’s church but keeps the book so that he can mold it to his liking. Those who deny the authority of Christ’s church do not believe everything that Christ said in scripture. Therein lies the source of their confusion.

It is very Catholic of you to say this! 👍
The word Catholic was begun over Century after Christ.
No, it started while the NT was being written:

Acts 9:31
“the church throughout”

ἐκκλησία καθ᾿ ὅλης

Kath holos = Catholic = throughout the whole = universal
Code:
Don't believe that the NT was written by God in principal? Think it is the word of the first Apostles and Disciples?
Both.

2 Peter 1:21
“men and women moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God”

What tradition or holy Words of The Church ever said that the NT was written for Catholics?

There were no others writing the NT, except Catholics. The whole contents of the NT was intended for use by the Church. It was the Church that Jesus sent to bring His gospel to the world.

Matt 28:18-20
“All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

He did not say “give them writings which will be made in the next 50 years, and let them try to figure it out on their own.”

What? Whether someone is sincere in seeking truth, or sincerely bashing the Church built by Christ is a matter of truth, having nothing at all to do with optimism of the observer. If you want to treat people who bash as sincere seekers, you are welcome of course to pursue that. I do what I believe is appropriate according to my belief in God and desire to follow Him. Please don’t try to “correct” those who are already in tune with reality, because they don’t subscribe to permanent rose colored glasses. My optimism is based in reality, the reality of Christ. I also know that treating the truth as something else is what puts people into trouble one way or another.

Yes, you’ve been apt to nitpick, but I prefer the truth and to preserve such. More importantly, let’s try not denying the Truths. Conversion to the faith was always and is still done by preaching, evangelizing where if needed we use words. The Bible is only to be used in proper context, as we know that outside the Church people tend to distort its meanings. You’ve gotten just enough Catholicism to know some truth, but not yet enough to know greater truth. Keep working on it!

The NT was written by humans, inspired by the Holy Spirit. Different from God actually writing on the tablets given to Moses. Ultimately, God is the author of everything good, but not really proper to use it in the way you write.

You are certainly confused, in that you need to connect the dots a little better. Everyone is meant to be in God’s Church. The Bible is meant for God’s Church. Therefore, the Bible is meant for everyone, where the proper context to have infallible teachings is in God’s Church.

Keep working on it… as we learn bit by bit and grow day by day.

Wow:D this is getting to be quite interesting.

My friend in Christ,

Can you show me in the bible where Christ did not make Peter the Head of His (SINGULAR) church?

I can provide scripture passages that proving that Christ did intend to form only “one church”, that this Church is the RCC, (everyone understood and believed this for about fifteen hundred years) and the Revoution by Luther. Let’s start with Mt. 16: 14-18.I’ll let you look it up, it’ll have more meaning comming from yout King James version. In fact the only bible was the Catholic bible for this same time period. And it was Catholics who wrote the entire N.T.

So if you really want it in the details reply to this post and I will invest the necessary time to prove to any reasonable person the truth of our beliefs on God’s entention of one church, and the Papacy.

Another thought. In 1610 thier were only two Christian Churches,
The RCC from day one of Chrsit Resurection, and The English/ Anglican church from the mid tweleve hundreds, then Luther in 1611, yet today their are over thirty five THOUSAND christian denomanations. How do you reconcile that with “My?” church?

God bless you my friend,😉

Have you not heard **The ** Catholic Saying/Wisdom on **Who ** Converts? **No one can. ** Only the Holy Spirit can. 🎉 Our job is to Help lost souls, best ways. And one never wins friends to the Truth by attacking, or making enemies of those needing help, as we also do.

I am willing to wager that you throw things around that you really don’t understand and make insinuations about others based on limited knowledge and perspective. That’s a safe bet.

Do we then just sit back and do nothing? Your arguments are circular in nature, and really make no sense as a whole.

Those who attack the Church built by Christ make no friends. Those who don’t understand how to appropriately handle this don’t do any good. Did Christ tell the Pharisees that they were just nice guys, and what they were doing was okay?

Why do you seek to make enemies of Catholics by unjust insinuations and criticisms borne not from truth?

I don’t bet more than 2 bits- 25 cents, because almost always win. Don’t like impoverishing others. 😉

And I throw only things I Know around…😉 :ballspin:

And have key posts on 2008 election site re neither Candidate has answers to our bankrupt future, and some worst wrong ideas!

And am faxing 48 hours Notice to one side, offering my Key Solutions, 100% True Catholic, to Save what is left of Morality and the United States, or I’ll nationally Publish What ails the USA, and how Best, most ideally, idealistically to solve.
And I only call attention to the misunderstandings of all, to help them think things out. I never ‘attack’ others, or fault them seriously. Only Jokingly 👍

You may win against people who don’t know, but with people who do, you will not win monetarily, but will win by learning by listening to those who espouse truth… as in this case.

From what I’ve seen, unfortunately, your keyboard exceeds your ability to deal in the real world. It’s probably nice to live in a world where you criticize what is not your version of perfection. Keep trying, though.

Couple of small corrections - the Church started by Christ and His Apostles is/was the Catholic Church, though not called “Roman” for many years. The Roman Catholic Church, properly called the Latin Rite, is one of 23 Rites that are all just as Catholic as the Roman Catholic Church.

The Reformation occurred in the 1530s, also at this time the Church of England broke away. By 1611 Luther was dead, but this was the year the KJV was published, with all 73 books.

Just as i thought. Keep in mind that your answer is the very thing catholics accuse Protestants of —33,000 different interpretations. The same is also true in the Catholic church since it has not infallibly interpreted the Scriptures.

Yes, I am aware of that.

No, the problem in both cases is not receiving the authoritative teaching of the Church. The majority of Catholics don’t know their faith very well, and that is why they are so vulnerable to sheep theft. If they knew what they had, they would never leave.

The Scripture is not to be used as an operating manual. That is why Jesus built the Church. He authorized the Church to teach, because only the Church received all of what he had to say. This teaching is not to be separated from the Holy Scripture that is produced by it.

Having an infallible interpreter is really no help then if there are countless different interpretations in the catholic church. Who does have the correct interpretation in the Catholic church?

This is like saying “having Jesus come to earth to reveal the truth is really no help, because so many people rejected what he had to say”.

I hope you realize the logical fallacy here.
Who does have the correct interpretation in the Catholic church?
There Church Teaching is one unified whole. Those who are not synchronized with it have missed the mark. Some miss very close, some miss very large. 😃

For the record, I will concede that the vast majority of American Catholics have missed the mark in one way or another. If this were not the case, we would not have abortion in this country, and our economy would not be going to hell in a handcart. Catholics have failed to be light and salt, and society is in decay as a result. 😦

The issue here is unity. Catholics continually claim to have unity while Protestants are in chaos. If there are many different interpretations in the Catholic church then you don’t really have unity but are in the same position as Protestants are.

How about you? Do you think you have synchronized completely?

But the difference is this, something you fail to grasp: The Roman Catholic Church has ONE set of teachings. So we are not in the same position as “Protestants” (noting herein that you used the word first:) )

The only possible semblance of unity that “some” protestants have is their common dislike and antagonism of the Catholic Church…and beyond that any possible “unity” is illusory at best.
If it were not so…why are there so many different “protestant religions/denominations/groups…etc”?

Yes, some Catholics have a slightly different interpretation of things…even scriptures even, however…we all have and know of the ground rule that makes the Church the final arbiter in those issues. Protestants have only themselves as aribters based on their own many millions of interpretations…according to their prevalent theological positions.
How about you? Do you think you have synchronized completely?
We Catholics have far more “unity” than you think. You just don’t see it. You have the myopic tendency to always seek the lowest common denominator…especially to try and use the individual person to define the Church. If we as Catholics used that identical premise as justification I could personally prove that just about every protestant on the planet was totally damned at birth, without any chance of salvation period.

And its all based on the actions of one or two people held up as examples of absolute and undeniable hypocrisy. Yep, damning all for the sins of one or two…and I’m not talking about Adam and Eve…😃
