Why don’t you answer all the questions that have been posed to you first?Perhaps you could answer the question I posed to Mickey?

Yes. Neither of you have been able to offer any thoughtful refutation.PR, I have. You insist on either avoiding what I’ve said, and going back to the same point over and over or asking “how do you know?” about everything I’ve said. That is not a conversation. You’re just wanting to argue no matter what is addressed to you. I was reading through the last scriptural discussion you had with Byzantine_Wolf several weeks ago and you did the exact same thing in your discussion with him.
Low-blow, my friend, low-blow…I didn’t say I was done disagreeing with you oh fan of them who couldn’t beat the hated Patriots![]()
But you have failed to demonstrate as much…I’m not misinformed about Catholicism. On this topic…it’s unscriptural and illogical.
Hey, I was rooting for them…Low-blow, my friend, low-blow…
I have asked numerous questions and have not gotten a response. I know full well what the magisterium teaches on this subject. Disagreement does not imply a lack of understanding. But you have failed to demonstrate as much…
Anyway, glad you’re here but please keep in mind this is a Catholic forum, so please don’t try to proselytize or mock our faith. We get enough of that outside this forum.
There was no comparison of anything to the Koran, Gaelic.I find the denigration of the word by comparing it to the reliability of the Qu’ran mocking. I would be remiss not to point out that impiety.
And yet Jesus never wrote anything down; never committed anything to paper, nor did He tell His Apostles to do so. He told His Apostles to go out teach all that He had taught, which is what the Church has been divinely commissioned to do, and what she had strived to do. Jesus also said that upon the Rock of Peter He would build His Church. There neccessarily needs to be a visible hierarchy if what Jesus taught is to be taught in a unified manner. In a round about wayHe attests to the NT and grants revelation to the writers of the NT.
Absolutely. All Christians. Not just a hierarchy.

Speaking of unanswered questions… Do you believe Mormons and JWs are Christians?Including… Mormons, Jehovah’s Witnesses…?
Nope.Speaking of unanswered questions… Do you believe Mormons and JWs are Christians?
They believe they are.Nope.
Yes they do. They. cannot demonstrate so.They believe they are.
Shouldn’t there be an authority who determines what is or is not Christianity?
Would you consider that your determination that Mormons and JW’s are not Christian to be infallible? Or do you hold the possiblility that you could be in error about this?Nope.
Scripture is quite clear on the matter.Would you consider that your determination that Mormons and JW’s are not Christian to be infallible? Or do you hold the possiblility that you could be in error about this?
So you believe your view of scripture to be infallible in this instance?Scripture is quite clear on the matter.
No, inerrant. So you believe your view of scripture to be infallible in this instance?
And yet both ‘inerrant’ and ‘infallible’ are defined as being free from error. Do you make a distinction between the two?No, inerrant.
Yes. Inerrant means without error. Infallible means not capable of error. Anything infallible will always be inerrant, but the reverse is not true. You are not infallible in mathematics. You could score 100% on a math test, making you inerrant on that test. And yet both ‘inerrant’ and ‘infallible’ are defined as being free from error. Do you make a distinction between the two?
Do you mean that you hold that you could be wrong in some of your interpretation of scripture?Yes. Inerrant means without error. Infallible means not capable of error. Anything infallible will always be inerrant, but the reverse is not true. You are not infallible in mathematics. You could score 100% on a math test, making you inerrant on that test.
Yes, I certainly could.Do you mean that you hold that you could be wrong in some of your interpretation of scripture?
Which is why we need a good professor to teach and correct our papers, if we are math students. We can possibly teach ourselves math, but if we want to really advance, we take a course, and we put trust and faith in our instructor to take us in the proper direction. We assume that the math instructor knows more than we do, especially if we take calculus, or some other difficult math. Just as some of us put our trust in a hierarchy to guide in the right direction for the sake of our immortal souls. And how much more important are our souls than a math skill?Yes, I certainly could.
Your analogy is a fair one, Denise, and I can respect it. The Scriptures say that we have been given evangelists, teachers, etc., to instruct us in the faith. As with your analogy, your professor does presumably know more about mathematics than you…he is not infallible at it though. Nor does he have to be in order to instruct you. He is still subject to the science that is his profession. In the same way, those who have been put over us as elders and deacons are stil subject to the God-breathed Scriptures.Which is why we need a good professor to teach and correct our papers, if we are math students.
