Sometimes I Feel, Protestants Really Do Understand Where Catholicism Came From, But Pride Is A Deadly Sin

Hateful? No. Responding in kind, yes. Trying to show what the Truth is? yes. Do you even read the posts of your catholic friends here? No more hateful posts will you ever see anywhere. Please dont be so duplicitous.
Well, here’s the problem.

Avenger thinks what he is doing is right, while Catholics on here think what they are doing is right.

It’s a battle of the wills.

Oh, and for the record, I do read the other posts.

Avenger, you might think you are not being hateful, but the tone in which you deliever your posts tells a different story. It looks hateful to us, even if it’s not meant that way.

I again refer you to the majority of posts by catholics here.

Forgive me, but I am not following you.

Are you saying that the Catholics on here are hateful?

If that is the case, you are mistaken.

Again, I refer you to the majority of the posts from your catholic buddies.
I’ve been here a while, and there are those who lack charity on all sides. I admit (and ashamed) I’ve even crossed the line more than once. But in no way is my experience that most of the posters or posts are unkind.

And yes, I consider my Catholic brothers and sisters “buddies”. I hope they consider this Lutheran in the same spirit.

This Catholic does. 🙂 And so do other Catholics who know you. Just because someone is non-Catholic doesn’t mean he/she is out to spew hatred. We may disagree but we are still friends, or if you would like to put it, ‘buddies’.

Thank you, again.

Sometimes I feel that Protestants here fully understand that the Catholics were the first Christians, and that Jesus Christ did in fact establish this church. That the bible is a Catholic book and that everything was Catholic in belief back then, 2,000 years ago…
I totally agree with your premise here.

I know faithful protestant believers who try to be faithful to the scriptures. Only when asked a hard question they look at me like this: 🤷

and change the subject.

My last protestant pastor before I converted was like this.

Then they go on to say things like:
“agree to disagree”
“major on the majors, minor on the minors”
(who determines what is major/minor is to be determined)

Then when all is said and down, money seems to speak louder than anything. They stay where the money and their friends are.

Are they saved? Sure.
Do they have the fullness of faith?
I think not.

That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.

If that is the case, you are mistaken.
When it comes right down to it, Catholics see their protestant brothers and sisters as “separated brethren.”

Protestants (I was one, so I can speak of my evangelical sisters and brothers in Christ), do not believe Catholics are saved.

They are misinformed and accuse Catholics of a lot of things Mariolatry, praying to statues, and worshipping bread are a few.
Catholics explain that we don’t do those things and the protestant refuses to believe.

So, when it comes right down to it, the protestants continue to protest the truth.

(Speaking of the “Four Spiritual Laws” Billy Graham, Campus Crusade, Christian TV and radio evangelical types of protestants, I don’t know much of the Mainline protestant denominations)

I also think they understand where and why the papacy was started, what Scripture backs it up and the Sacraments Christ left us upon His return. Some Protestants here will say, yes, I do believe this but when the Reformers came…etc…
Well, if Jesus Christ himself established and founded his Catholic church, way before the Reformers thought things weren’t going their way, why aren’t they Catholic? If Christ, loooong before ESTABLISHED THE CHURCH before any Protestant saw the light of day, why aren’t you in the church looooong before the Reformers came?? The Reformer’s were not Christ, therefore Christ did not start ANY Protestant churches…
I have to agree with Avenger this is an offensive post.

Not this one

I don’t, and if you worship bread, so do I.
So, when it comes right down to it, the protestants continue to protest the truth.
Hopefully, together and with the help of the Holy Spirit, we can come together in unity to protest for the truth.

Thanks for distinguishing here. Hope I’ve helped you see a different face of noncatholics.
