Rep. Lee Zeldin (R-NY) has been agitating for House Intelligence Committee Chair Adam Schiff (D-CA) to release the transcript of the closed door testimony of White House Office of Management and Budget (OMB) official Mark Sandy.

It just dropped and we can see why Schiff may have sat on it.

Sandy provided the reason for why aid was held up that blows apart the Schiff narrative and is completely consistent with everything we’ve seen from how President Donald Trump works.

Sandy explained that the only reason he was told that aid was temporarily frozen was because of other countries not contributing more to Ukraine.

It is pretty clear money was disbursed because Trump had and was sitting on the Whisleblowers complaint. His no quid pro quo notes was clearly defense rhetoric intended to meet the known report.
Clear now that the Ukrainians knew the money was held up on July 25th. And it all closed in every day .
Schiff has got him!
 
Sandy was told around September 9 to compile how much foreign aid Ukraine received from other countries.

So that can’t be the reason it was held up. Because it was held up in July.
 
It was cleared in May. And you are right.
And clearly he sat on a copy of the Whistleblower report for weeks.
Then in September they began searching for excuses.
Meanwhile this was impermissible in the law but they needed something.
They have resignations in OMB over it. They won’t be able to hide the documents much longer because people are testifying.
What is really shocking is Fiona Hills testimony. Hill is no Democrat! She is part of Trump’s NSA. And she flat out " outed" what was the Intel communities assessment that Russia had put out the 2016 narrative about the CROWDSTRIKE in Ukraine. She testified it IS real time propaganda. AND IT IS THE BASIS OF TRUMPS CALL QUID PRO QUO. ( How brazen!)
And senators like Kennedy went on Chris Wallace and made himself a participant. And they have millions who know this is true and don’t care. They choose Putin over Democrats. That is the new political phenomena in America. The shift in the GOP when the demographics changed. There is nothing in common with REAGAN/ BUSH. It is a dangerous time for the Republic

But you’re half right in your Twain reference. Trump is, by his supporters, regarded as more akin to King Cyrus of the Old Testament. As far as is known, Cyrus remained a pagan, and yet he is regarded by the Israelites as a righteous gentile because he freed them from Babylonian captivity and aided the rebuilding of the temple in Jerusalem. The references to “King Cyrus Christians” appear here and there and they’re probably apt.

In his closed-door deposition, Sandy also directly debunked the Republican talking point that the hold on the aid was related to Trump’s concern that other nations should be contributing more in national security assistance to Ukraine.

Sandy testified that the White House didn’t ask the budget office for information about how much other nations were contributing until September – months after the hold was placed.

“I recall in early September an email that attributed the hold to the President’s concern about other countries not contributing money to Ukraine,” Sandy testified. By that time, lawmakers were asking questions about the freeze on aid to Ukraine and reports questioning the reasons for the withholding had already hit the press.

Why did we need a second irregular channel to Ukraine head by Giuliani? He doesn’t work for the US.

Why was the aid held up when it wasn’t supposed to?

Why promise things like Pence attending the inauguration, and then not sending him, while withholding the aid?

Not a dud.

Andrew Napolitano sees that there is enough evidence for articles of impeachment. He’s a conservative. He works for Fox. It would be convenient for him if he didn’t say anything. No one on the network would press him to say anything. They didn’t even defend him when tucker Carlson insulted him.

Because some of the “official” people involved with Ukraine are bitter Trump opponents and, like their ideological brethren, Comey, Strzok, Page, McCabe, not worthy of trust to carry out anything but their own policy views.

I don’t think that’s what’s articulated by Trump supporters at all. I’ve heard that he’s a straight talker who is an incredible businessman. Oh, and that he is incredibly pro life, even though when he was asked what to do with women who have abortions he said they should be jailed.

You know what the biggest tricks Trump and his institutional supporters have accomplished? Convincing the rank and file that the top-rated cable news channel is not part of the mainstream media. As the highest rated, wouldn’t Fox be the mainstream?

Very insightful. I don’t think Trump is a pagan, though. I think he’s a Trumpist - it’s a religion and a political party.

The proper process, were that the case, would be to remove “bitter Trump opponents”, and replace them with people who, while Trump supporeters, have also taken an oath of office to the US.

The reality, however, is that Trump’s operation was in violation of the law - the withholding of funds, the corrupt quid pro quo. He needed the back channel to engage people who would cooperate in an unlawful practice.
 
Oh, so a retired former Republican senator doesn’t like Trump and thinks he sounds like a dictator. If Trump was really a dictator this guy would be in jail or undergoing one of those endless, Beria-like investigations to which the Dems subject Trump and those associated with him. But he says what he wants, safe in the knowledge that Trump is not a dictator.

Notice, please, that the MSM is more than a few cable channels. It includes magazines, newspapers, broadcast channels, internet, social media. It would be nice to think Fox is “most” of the media, but it isn’t.
