Now for kidderdoc and anyone else feeling anti-Islam, listen up! This is your Church speaking-

continued…

[844](javascript:openWindow(‘cr/844.htm’)😉 In their religious behavior, however, men also display the limits and errors that disfigure the image of God in them:

Very often, deceived by the Evil One, men have become vain in their reasonings, and have exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and served the creature rather than the Creator. Or else, living and dying in this world without God, they are exposed to ultimate despair.333

[845](javascript:openWindow(‘cr/845.htm’)😉 To reunite all his children, scattered and led astray by sin, the Father willed to call the whole of humanity together into his Son’s Church. The Church is the place where humanity must rediscover its unity and salvation. The Church is “the world reconciled.” She is that bark which “in the full sail of the Lord’s cross, by the breath of the Holy Spirit, navigates safely in this world.” According to another image dear to the Church Fathers, she is prefigured by Noah’s ark, which alone saves from the flood.334 **“Outside the Church there is no salvation” :amen: **

[846](javascript:openWindow(‘cr/846.htm’)😉 How are we to understand this affirmation, often repeated by the Church Fathers?335 Re-formulated positively, it means that all salvation comes from Christ the Head through the Church which is his Body:

Basing itself on Scripture and Tradition, the Council teaches that the Church, a pilgrim now on earth, is necessary for salvation: the one Christ is the mediator and the way of salvation; he is present to us in his body which is the Church. He himself explicitly asserted the necessity of faith and Baptism, and thereby affirmed at the same time the necessity of the Church which men enter through Baptism as through a door. Hence they could not be saved who, knowing that the Catholic Church was founded as necessary by God through Christ, would refuse either to enter it or to remain in it.336

847 This affirmation is not aimed at those who, through no fault of their own, do not know Christ and his Church:

Those who, through no fault of their own, do not know the Gospel of Christ or his Church, but who nevertheless seek God with a sincere heart, and, moved by grace, try in their actions to do his will as they know it through the dictates of their conscience - those too may achieve eternal salvation.337

From the Catechism of the Catholic Church…

Emmy of Texas:

You’re not the yellow rose of your state, more like a thorn I think. You do go on and on. Why are you dominating this board? You’ve made your point so why do you keep blethering away? Is there something bothering you? People who are confident in their beliefs would not be doing what you are on this board. So once again Emmy, what’s your problem?

This is a huge, huge topic. Islam was and is continuing to wage war on us. The earlier years of the 20th century were just a lull between jihads. All a young jihadist needs to know is in Sura 8:12 and 9 of the Qur’an. Muslim apologists gloss over all this; services are conducted in classic Arabic which many ordinary Muslims do not understand. Muslims wage war in Eastern Europe, in India, in Africa, against non-Muslims and against black Muslims (Darfur).

One can catch up with what is really going on in Islam at jihadwatch.org. This site is sponsored by Robert Spencer, who has written many books on the subject including one that I read, Onward Muslim Soldiers. Also frontpagemag.com features articles by Muslim scholars like Bat Ye’or.

It’ll curl your hair, I’m telling you. And I am convinced it is only people of equal or stronger faith who can prevail in this struggle. Secularists can’t hold out for the long haul.

I can only pray that Rome really does understand this, the way they understood the threat of communism. The Church was steadfast in that war.

Thank you and I very much agree. The wisdom of the Church, the Body of Christ will prevail, I trust…but worse times are ahead, that is certain. Pray pray pray…

Didn’t Vatican Two have something to say about that back 1965 ?

Yes, that’s all fine and dandy, however… teaching that Moslems and Catholics worship the same God is, in my opinion, no way to try to convert others. IF we did worship the same God we would all be one ( even as our Lord, Jesus is ONE. We would all be Holy, ( as God is HOLY ), we would all be Universal… or worldwide and united, ( as The Blessed Trinity is worldwide and united ) and we would all be Apostolic ( of the Apostles, hand picked personally, by Christ our Lord.)

Hey guys, I am a Catholic who is living in a strange land which I first thought not on this planet… just kidding.

Saudi Arabia is a “holy” land for the Muslims, you know why I’m sure. Their laws are all based on the qur’an and the hadiths (Sharia). You know what, I will tell you what’s so funny about living in here in although other religions are strictly forbidden (to be practiced) but I find it entertaining to live in places so unusual. Take for example:

Women are not allowed to drive a car (but now, they are allowed to pilot a plane). They are not even allowed to sit in front of a car and they are not allowed to go out of their houses without a man accompanying them (at least a close relative–but surprise surprise, when a lot of Muslims came for the Umrah, they were told by those peace-keepers at Kaaba to separate women from men to the schock of those who perform umrah) No one is allowed to have mobile phones with cameras (once caught, they will confiscate it–but a lot of law enforcers are having those gadgets with them–and their sons have been enjoying it very much).

And this must surprise you also. A lot of expatriates and myself attended a seminar which was organized by the Center for Counselling and Promotion for Islam (all mosques here have those centers). The speaker was very good. He explained every detail of what is “real” Islam. So this must be real. He was telling his audience that what happened to 9/11 and the (Islamic) terrorists in the world are all CIA conspiracies. He claimed that those terrorists were not muslims, they are westerners who wanted to project Islam in a bad light. I can sense among the audience their disbelief of his claims. But the real scene here after 9/11 has something to say about it. Seen on TV were muslims all over the world spontaneously rejoicing and dancing, clapping their hands in utmost festivities, shouting “allahu akbar,” “death to the infidels” and some even said this is the end of the crusaders who wanted to invade the land of muslims… while the rest of the world, were silenced with disbelief… the rest of humanity cried… while muslims danced (of course american muslims shouldn’t do that–otherwise…)…

Our speaker is right and I agree with him. This is the real Islam. 👍

-May the Name of the Lord be praised forever!
-Praise be Jesus Christ, now and until he comes.
-Maranatha, come Lord Jesus. :bowdown2:

This is how I understand the teaching that Catholics and Muslims worship the same God: If person ‘A’ and person ‘B’ both declare that there is only ONE God, then by neccessity when person ‘A’ and person ‘B’ refer to “God,” they must be referring to the SAME entity.

This does not mean that person ‘A’ and person ‘B’ have the same concept of the qualities of that entity. Suppose, for example, that both I and you know another person that works in another town. We know this third person through the telephone only; we have never met him. I may think that the person is a Catholic, black and a father while you may think that the person is Baptist, white and single. We are still talking about the same person, but our perception of the qualities of that person are different. So different that it seems that we are not talking about the same person, but we are. One or both of us are wrong in our perceptions, but we are still talking about the same person.

When the Church or the Pope say that the Muslims worship the same God, they only mean that they worship the same entity as we do. They do not mean that the Muslims have a correct concept of the qualities of God or that the Muslims’ perception of God is correct.

We must still work to convert the Muslims to the correct understanding of God and how God has revealed Himself to us. We must work to help the Muslims understand that God is a Trinity and that the Son of God, Jesus Christ, the Word of God, is our Savior.

Stating the fact that the Muslims worship the same God in no way means that we should not continue to evanglize them.

Muslim scholars claimed that they had proven the corruption of the Bible: Read: muslimedia.com/azamibk.htm
You do not live in the USA. What is your meaning of the word “corruption”.

Corruption is not an eclesiastical word! I know some Muslims say if the Koran is translated into English, it, the Koran, would be changing it’s meaning. What do you say?
