What is everyone’s favorite version of The Imitation of Christ?

I like the one put out by the Confraternity of the Precious Blood.

For years I had a little red volume with gold lettering on the cover. I can’t remember who put it out, but I loved that book. I seem to have lost it in my most recent move, and can’t find it for the life of me. In the meantime, I have the Baronius, which is OK, but will never replace that red book in my affections.

Today is St. Anthony’s feast day. Pray to him. Maybe he can find it for you.

The Imitation of Christ by Thomas á Kempis. The Baronius edition which is the Bishop Challoner translation.
This precious volume is my constant companion. Dare I say, sometimes I think I have a more profound attachment to this little book than to Scripture! I think it is because of the parts where Christ speaks directly to the reader. It is really like you are having a one-on-one conversation with Him.
It is a very nice, compact and well-made edition. And, Bishop Challoner’s translation, while a bit archaic, avoids the tendencies toward modernism seen in some other editions. I believe that it is Thomas á Kmpis most purely translated.

I have several translations, one apparently done by a pastor in the “Church of What’s Happening Now” All editions have value. Examine some others, either online or at a Catholic bookstore. Chances are you will be happiest with the one you have.

Eusebius’ Ecclesiastical History: Complete and Unabridged

Boys to Men: The Transforming Power of Virtue

The Catholic Answers 20 Answers series

I read a lot ans usually, several books at a time.

You’re right, Lormar! I never thought of that! Thanks for the reminder!

I’m reading the Pauline version, but I will check out that website. Thanks!

I have read this book nearly a year ago. I really like this book.

Fr. Roger Landry … that name sounds familiar … but I can’t remember any details.

My current volume in this genre is The Divine Dance by Father Richard Rohr. This is my second read of this one.

The Miracle Ship: Conversations with John Gillespie
-By Brian O’Hare

Just finished true devotion to Mary and started reading introduction to the devout life

My print copy of Pope Francis’ Rejoice and be Glad finally arrived today. I read it online when it was first promulgated, but I will read it again now since I prefer reading real books.

Fr. Landry was interviewed on EWTN fairly recently, by Rev. Mitch Pacwa??? - that’s why I picked up his book.

Thanks Mary Ellen! I’ll google it and see what I come up with.

Is this it:
