What is everyone’s favorite version of The Imitation of Christ?
I like the one put out by the Confraternity of the Precious Blood.

Today is St. Anthony’s feast day. Pray to him. Maybe he can find it for you.For years I had a little red volume with gold lettering on the cover. I can’t remember who put it out, but I loved that book. I seem to have lost it in my most recent move, and can’t find it for the life of me. In the meantime, I have the Baronius, which is OK, but will never replace that red book in my affections.
It is a very nice, compact and well-made edition. And, Bishop Challoner’s translation, while a bit archaic, avoids the tendencies toward modernism seen in some other editions. I believe that it is Thomas á Kmpis most purely translated.po18guy:![]()
This precious volume is my constant companion. Dare I say, sometimes I think I have a more profound attachment to this little book than to Scripture! I think it is because of the parts where Christ speaks directly to the reader. It is really like you are having a one-on-one conversation with Him.The Imitation of Christ by Thomas á Kempis. The Baronius edition which is the Bishop Challoner translation.
I have several translations, one apparently done by a pastor in the “Church of What’s Happening Now” All editions have value. Examine some others, either online or at a Catholic bookstore. Chances are you will be happiest with the one you have. What is everyone’s favorite version of The Imitation of Christ?

Another one of my favorites. Every few years I read it.I’m almost done with The Secret of the Rosary by St. Louis De’Montfort.
You’re right, Lormar! I never thought of that! Thanks for the reminder!kill051:![]()
