I hope you’re not equating drinking holy water and eating blessed salt with the superstitious practices of carrying a rabbit’s foot and “having a hundred frogs” ( ). That’s the way your post is coming across.

No I have tried drinking the HW before and my salt got spilled so didn’t put it in my food.

My dad used to sprinkle salt over his shoulder at the meal all th time I was growing up and would not say so why, but later I learned that his mother was amish and so I guessit was a tradition and so he didn’t I think even know why he did this. And it makes a little mess on the floor so after that I determined not to marry a guy who sprinkles salt on the floor

One of the offenders as in dealers or as in users? In various short bios, official and unofficial, I can only find that he used cocaine for roughly three years – sure, he likely ran for friends or sold or shared some of what he had on hand, but that doesn’t make him a dealer.

Can you produce this testimony that dealers, as a rule, ask the blessings of Satan upon their product?

You don’t need Satan to make cocaine or heroin highly addictive – they already are! If the good father really did assert this, it sounds to me he’s trying to project away from himself: ‘yeah, I screwed up, but it wasn’t really my fault, Satan made the coke addictive!’

This was his testimony on a televised series about spiritual warfare on EWTN. He was a successful so cal real estate broker and was at a party with celebrities when he was introduced to coke and soon became involved with traffic. I don’t know the depth of his involvement except he claimed to have witnessed a satanic “curse” put on a “shipment at the docks”. Three years, yeah coke can make you crash and burn in that amount of time. He took full blame for his life and lure of money in the episode. I thought it was a wild story too, but the man was in collar, being filmed and was deadly serious, even swearing to it. It was pretty convincing stuff. I’m not a greenhorn when it comes to the stuff, I can tell the difference between uncut ether and diesel by sight and I have never come across anything outwardly satanic, but his testimony was convincing. As for dope being evil, there is no question for me there anymore. Just losing one person you know can convince someone of it. A family friend was shot 3 times in the face in Baltimore suspectingly over dope. Thats evil. Tim

If he was that wealthy and that deeply involved in narcotrade (and from the sound of it, that’s pretty far in), how’d he manage to end up homeless for three years? Why doesn’t his (admittedly brief) official biography – which doesn’t shy away from mentioning his being an addict on the streets – even mention his involvement with trafficking? Why can’t I find records of his career importing cocaine? Nothing I can find says he was anything other than a user.

I don’t buy it, and I suspect his actual story much more resembles Jerry Stahl’s than it does Lucky Luciano’s.

Are drugs dangerous? Most certainly! Are they innately evil? No.

Maybe fortunate so I will look for more info on the Father Corapi for you for here. I never even read his bio myself so I guess you must have found it.

I think he may write some books in the future but go to the EWTN site or to This Rock and Karl Keating may have some stuff on him if you search, go to library on the site and look up his name and he has been a priest for about 10 years I think and on the circuit preach for as long you may find something to download, I should do it for you but I will but will get lost in the in it. I will look at This Rock it is a mag that Karl Keating has been doing since 1990 and is like many many stories on conversions and a lot to do with the Church. Start reading them you will be there for the next ten years, so easy to copy . I like to read a lot and check out the Journey home on the EWTN site you may be able to send for DVD’s of the programs.

Yeah, I found that site – it’s where I got his official biographical blurb from. Nowhere does it mention trafficking, only use and/or abuse. If he’s as honest as I’m led to believe (and indeed, I have no reason not to; I think it’s more likely the message got garbled in transmission like in a game of Telephone), one would think it’d get even just a little mention.

I’m a little leery ordering things, even free. I’ve noticed a distinct tendency to end up on mailing lists that get sent hither and yon to various Catholic and affiliated organizations if someone gets your address. I already get plenty of junk mail thanks to a family gift of a subscription to Inside the Vatican: support such-and-such diocese, give to this or that charitable cause, ad nauseam. I think it may have had something to do with the mailer I got from ‘Brownback for President’ too (I know I didn’t sign up for it anyway It did make for hilarious reading the way it addressed me as a ‘conservative Christian’ with a driving interest in ending abortion and keeping gays from marrying, I’ll give it that much!).
