Exactly. The Summer of Love strikes again.

Fortunately, the time of these kinds of people is just about over. The future lies with huge numbers of kids and young adults who have an attachment to the Tridentine Mass and tradional Catholic piety, not aging hippies who only know how to protest and dissent.
I’m one of those greying old ladies. Not the disenting protesting sort. But from that generation. Yeah our time is up. We’ve all got one foot in the grave. You can finally disgard us!! 👍 And I’m very glad to see the young ones as well. But I still can pick out a few of us oldies at the Tridentine Mass I attend. 🙂

I am 55 and I am the usually the youngest person at Daily Mass. Makes one fear for the state of the Church when the oldsters are gone.

Believe me i love the old people so don’t leave us too fast!

i would love to go to daily mass but there isn’t a church around me that does one during the lunch hour. I don’t have the freedom to leave and come back to work

“I am 55 and I am the usually the youngest person at Daily Mass.”

Now, please keep in mind that I intend no disrespect, but perhaps you’re the youngest person at daily Mass because the younger people have many more responsibilities and can’t find the time to attend daily Mass?

I’m 29, I work full time (taking a coffe break at work now) and when I get home I have a home business I run as well. And I’m single. We’re I married, I’d have even less time.

Sunday Mass at the Latin rite I attend is always full. Young people too. There will always be the older folks at the daily Mass as they, usually, don’t have to be at work at 7 in the morning.

Like I said, no disrespect intended. 👍

I get SO tired of all these people that try to change doctrines of the Church!!! Like they’re going to really change things:rolleyes: It’s REAL easy people…if you don’t like the way THE Church that has been here for 2000 years is (pardon my French)dont let the door hit you in the butt on the way out!!!
Amen! Since it’s a free country, they are free to leave and form their own (deleted) church! And, it most certainly would be (deleted)!

Christ’s obedience be with you.

We have a young couple (20’s) at our daily 6:30 mass. Makes me hopeful for the state of marriage!

55 is young for daily mass. When I was a kid, it was always old, old people at daily mass. I’m 52 and go daily at 6:30 AM. IT CAN BE DONE! 8:00 daily mass has a lot of stay at home moms too.

You’re probably right. i am my boss so i can do as I please. in the old days most parishes had a 6AM mass that the faithful could attend before work. Now we are lucky to have a daily mass iat any time in most parishes. My Houston Parish has daily mass only two days a week.

What a shame. It’s so nice to meet the daily 6:30 AM mass nerds every day (old and young). It just gets my day off to the right start. I like being able to do it in my own parish, and I am lucky I can. But mass is mass, and daily mass can be done at another parish.

“It means you are no longer a Catholic in good standing, that by your very own decision you have chosen to separate yourself from the church,” Meehan said. "But we are disobeying an unjust law that discriminates against women.

Discriminates against women??? Hogwash…I don’t hear men scream that the feel discriminate against because they can’t birth childern. Women and men are natural different.
I can’t become a nun either, but you don’t hear me complaining. 👍

It is actually a dogma. I guess they’ll have to figure out which dogmas they pick for their new church, which by the way is in a Unitarian Church:

*“The process brought them close — so close that they will co-pastor a faith community at First Unitarian Church of St. Louis in the Central West End. Their first service will be Dec. 1.” * stltoday.com

They don’t even call it mass, because it isn’t!

My Houston Parish has daily mass only two days a week.
Hmm, if Mass is only twice a week, how can it be called daily?😃

I suppose you could say your parish has Mass twice weekly on weekdays? I knew what you ment and please forgive me for idle comments. The statement just caused me to do a double take.

What I found interesting in today’s article in the St. Louis Post Dispatch covering the ordination is that one of the women found out about this organization that “ordains” women in April 2006. That means her “formation” was no more than 1 1/2 years!

Kris
Lengthy formation is unnecessary for those who already know everything.

An insurrection! He is calling all to pick up a stone. Oh well, go ahead and throw your stones. Count me out. If it was happening in my church, I would go to another church or diocese.D.
Running from the problem is tantamount to supporting it. This blatant disobedience must be fought. Do we want 33,000 Catholic denominations, too?

“I tell you, he will see that they get justice, and quickly. However, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?” Luke 18:8

He needs to approach them or her and which he more than likely has and explain the definance. He probably has but to do it publically in an article is like a public threat. This is likely legal but I think it is suppose to be done quietly and then when it is done be made known but it is like he is trying to get public support for himself and like I said a witch hunt!
He actually did contact them, the women wishing to be ordained, and Susan Talve, the rabbi of the Synogue. But they went ahead with their plans, in a very public manner. So Archbishop Burke, in his weekly column in the St. Louis Review explains what he is doing and why. In NO WAY did he interview with the St. Louis Post-Dispatch and publicly ex-communicate them.
Maybe he is trying to stress the end justifies the means but does he think they will change their minds,? no he is making an example of them or her.

D.
Please do not assume this about him. He is a very holy, humble and devout man. His superior intelligence and education have not prevented him from being a person who easily relates to people. Anyone who knows him will tell you he is extremely personable.

Unfortunately, he has had to enforce unpopular positions in his role as Shepherd of the Archdiocese of St. Louis.

I thought your profile was Catholic? Did you mean you would join another parish? We are all one Church, One Faith, united in following the teachings of the Magesterium. As a Catholic Christian, you cannot escape this and still be Catholic.

Christ’s Peace
