I’m sure our leadership will take the right decision. They are indeed there always monitoring what is going on.

But as I said, for want of a professional media balance to be presented here, the Catholic Church really fell short of the mark on this one. Why go anonymous? Why couldn’t anyone be found that would speak the truth of the situation here
The person blackened may have been an ex parishioner who did not want is face splashed on national TV.

The Church did not present iteself the best as you say but it appears to have asked the parish to ‘get back to the rubrics.’ Investigations are still current and when they are finished the Church will make a statement, not wanting to seem to prejudice things at the moment I guess.

If I am correct, this man is actually from Caboolture, a northern suburb of Brisbane, about an hours drive away. He and a friend decided to be the catholic police and ventured in there one Sunday to report said liturgical abuses. He remained afterwards for a baptism that was being held and this is the alleged incident with the phone. He was using the phone to record everything. Fr. Kennedy had asked him to leave, the baptisimal party didn’t want him there and it was quite clear he wasn’t there in the interests of the asaid baptism taking place. As far as I know, he was under no authority to do as such, and as you said, the Church has been investigating this. I believe the Church didn’t make any comment as it would appear it had not been directed from above to do so. In fact, it seems more obvious that this has been orchestrated from others in the church who are not officially investigating this. And herein lies the problem - no proper defence was able to be given because it was directed by those wishing to remain anonymous, people who shouldn’t have been doing so in the first place on national television.
And by the way, the investigation has already been completed. Archbishop Bathersby has acknowledged that their practices are not in line with that of the Catholic Church and has been gracious in giving them time to repent of there ways. It would seem the final statement will be released upon his return at the end of the month.

What exactly will he lead them to? If he doesn’t believe Christ is divine, what exactly is the point of his parishoners attending Mass? What do they even do for an hour on Sunday morning?
they sit around the “Altar” (a large wooden table in he middle of the Nave) that often outside of the “mass” has chips & other food resting upon it. whilst the Old Sanctary and Altar has become the the place where the gay and Lesbian Singers use as their Choir Loft)

the they recite afew prayers regurding social justice and how Jesus came to came to bring social justice (nothing about the Atonment at all)

then have Politicly correct Scripture readings that use inclusive language so women dont get offened by the Specifily Masciline Language of the Bible.

often a member of the Congration will proclam the gospel alot of times a woman will do it (even non-catholics are invited to do so)

they then proceed to use an non-Nicean Creed (once again filled with “social justice” with almost no Catholic/Christian Theology in it)

Then the Priest who doesnt like to wear prietsly vestmens predides over a non-vatican approved Eucharistic prayer and invites laymen and women and sometimes non-catholics to co-celebrate with im (& whilst ive never seen this myself i have heard of incidencts the laypeople arent just “Co-celbrating” with him, but rather the Priest doent partisipate at all.)

I know this cause I live 2 streets away from the the church in question…and went there once for mass 2 years ago…I have never been back since…and whilst this church is definatly the worst expample, its not the only place in Brisbane that is filled with herasy and error…these places include the Catherdal

the fruit of the tree cant help be rotten if the roots of the tree are rotten to the core!

Unfortunately, I would have to agree that specific practices have really gone beyond the realm of liturgical abuses. On hearing about more details of the activities going on here, I was shocked and very disappointed. It would seem they have traveled further down the road than what I had first imagined. It would seem this is spiraling into what could not even be considered any form of a Catholic mass. 😦

The baptisms used two illicit formulas: "I baptise you in the name of the Creator and of the Redeemer and of the Sanctifier and "I baptise you in the in the name of the Creator and of the Liberator and of the Sustainer.
The legitimate formula is "I baptise you in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.’’
The chancellor of the diocese, Father Jim Spence, said the priests at the parish were ordered to revert to the traditional formula in 2004 but that some people may still be unaware their baptisms were wrongly administered.
He said he was unaware how many people it may affect. The church is currently considering whether there will be a need for those illicitly baptised to have the ritual legitimately.
"It doesn’t mean it’s invalid, it just means it’s illicit, he said.
Fr Spence said the illicit baptisms did not invalidate subsequent sacraments, including confirmation, penance and marriage.
This is a critical issue!!!

I am almost certain that the formula used by this heretical priest totally invalidates the so-called baptism. I think somewhere in Church documents it clearly states that using a formula other than “…in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Sprit…” invalidates the sacrament. Perhaps a Forum Administrator could check on this.

Further, Fr Spence is not correct. If those who have been “baptised” under the non-valid formula are not really baptised then it also means that they cannot actually receive any other sacraments, even though they may think they are receiving them. Again a Forum Administrator could find the refernces for this.

Also, if a person invalidly “baptised” under this formula were to later be ordained a priest, they would, in fact, not actually be able to be ordained. Therefore ALL the sacraments they attempted to celebrate would be invalid - UNKNOWN TO ALL THEIR FUTURE PARISHONERS!

This is very serious and Rome needs to investigate it fully.
