I am so glad that you have posted this about St. Monica. I read her bio, and WOW. What a life she lead. I have been married for 3 years. I was married in the Catholic church, but my husband is not Catholic. He did not believe in God until this last April. He was baptized at a Assembly of God church. I am so thankful that he has finally transformed into a believer after 41 lost years of his life. Thank you Lord, after 6 years of lots of prayers! Now, I am praying that he will eventually become Catholic. He attends Catholic service every Sunday with me, raises his hands during the āOur Fatherā, etcā¦ but I am looking for a way to interest him into joining. Any ideas? I thought about attending a class of some sort at Church. Please pray for my husband and his conversion. Thanks and God bless.
Welcome Christine!
Thatās great that your DH (dear husband) attends Mass with you weekly ā itās a great step in the right direction! Ideas to bring him home to the Catholic Church:
~PRAY
~PRAY
~PRAY
Pray the Rosary and chaplet of Divine Mercy for him, ask St. Monica and other saints for their intercession on his behalf, just keep praying. Live your Catholic faith, be an example that is irresistible. My Mom has a quote (not sure where she got it) and I love it:
āIf I love you, I want heaven for you, and Iāll do anything I can to get you there.ā
Sometimes all we can do is pray (like St. Monica) and live a life according to Godās will ā the rest is up to Him.
PRAYER TO ST. MONICA
Dear St. Monica,
troubled wife and mother,
many sorrows pierced your heart during your lifetime.
Yet, you never despaired or lost faith.
With confidence, persistence, and profound faith,
you prayed daily for the conversion
of your beloved husband, Patricius,
and your beloved son, Augustine;
your prayers were answered.
Grant me that same fortitude, patience,
and trust in the Lord.
Intercede for me, dear St. Monica,
that God may favorably hear my plea for
(personal intentions)
and grant me the grace to accept His Will in all things,
through Jesus Christ, our Lord,
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, forever and ever.
Amen.
