St. Monica, how did you keep your spirits up? How did you not just go around sulking and feeling sorry for yourself over the things your husband WASN’T? Dear Jesus, I am so sorry for my ingratitude. Please help me to be the H.S. in my home, esp towards DH for whom I’m feeling such contempt and dissatisfaction with. Help me not to compare him or our marriage to others. Jesus, be my everything. Let me be satisfied with you.

Dear St. Monica, please pray for my DH to have a change of heart over his decision to have a vasectomy after we’ve conceived our 4th unplanned child. He is really just afraid of NFP and having more children, and his family and friends are accepting but there’s an underlying skepticism there. Please give DH peace and help him come back to his faith to find solace. Help me to the HS in our home.

I love St. Monica. I’m always praying to her about my 16 yr old son, Jacob. She was such a devoted wife and mother. I pray to have the same compassion she did for her son and husband. 🙂
