Beloved St. Monica:
Please pray for our childrens’ purity and faith to triumph over every evil they must face in this world. Please shield them from the influence of evil when there at school or with other people or anytime we’re not there to watch them.pray for us parents to be examples of Christ the way you were no matter what we must endure.

Thank you.
I LOVE this!

Dear St. Monica,
troubled wife and mother,
many sorrows pierced your heart during your lifetime.
Yet, you never despaired or lost faith.
With confidence, persistence, and profound faith,
you prayed daily for the conversion
of your beloved husband, Patricius,
and your beloved son, Augustine;
your prayers were answered.
Grant me that same fortitude, patience,
and trust in the Lord.
Intercede for me, dear St. Monica,
that God may favorably hear my plea for

my daughter’s first day of kindergarten and for our family

and grant me the grace to accept His Will in all things,
through Jesus Christ, our Lord,
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, forever and ever.

Amen

Happy feast day St. Monica

O God, who console the sorrowful and who mercifully accepted the motherly tears of Saint Monica for the conversion of her son Augustine, grant us, through the intercession of them both, that we may bitterly regret our sins and find the grace of your pardon. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever.

Both my husband and I grew up Protestant, and when I told him I was interested in converting to Catholicism, he did not take the news well. The tension was horrible and the arguments epic as he reiterated how I throwing away my salvation, that he would never have married me and started a family if I had been Catholic then, and how my draw to the Catholic Church would be a stumbling block to his own faith that I would have to answer for, in the end. At this time, I am not allowed to attend Mass, pray the Rosary, or discuss Catholic beliefs with him or our children. I love my husband and will continue to pray for, at the very least, a softening of his heart toward Catholic belief and that he goes where the Lord leads him.

Wow, that was fast! 👍

I posted and prayed for conversion of my husband, as I was thinking about converting (we were both Methodists) and he did not approve. This week, we compromised on an Anglican church, one that has split off from the Episcopal (sp?) church because of recent teachings that aren’t in the Bible. The diocese, I am told, is “in communion with” the Catholic Church. I’m not sure what all that means, but my marriage isn’t in trouble anymore, we’re going to start attending church again for the first time in years, and I feel like, at least in part, the prayers of those on this forum have helped and been heard. I feel like dancing! Many thanks to all who prayed, and to Him who hears all prayers! :getholy:

Praise the Lord!

smileyjf I will continue to pray for you and your husband. Please pray for my husband who has not gone to church with his family except for Christmas and Easter, funerals weddings etc. I wish him to come back fully to the Catholic Church so our five children will have a spiritual leader in their Father. I feel like I am failing miserably trying to teach the faith to our children by myself. Also please pray for our. daughter who is in her first year of preparation for confirmation and has her first class tonight.

mnmom, thank you for your prayers. I will definitely remember you and your family in mine!

You sound so sad in your post…please don’t give up hope. The Lord has heard you. 🙂

Praying for you, sister in Christ! Please also pray for my husband, too. He’s an atheist who is rather against the faith.

I’m a cradle Catholic. My husband is a protestant. We raise our children Catholic and my husband has been tolerant and even encouraging of my faith and in raising our children Catholic. I’ve felt wrong for hoping for his eventual conversion to Catholicism since marrying him. I respect him and I want whatever he does in his faith life to be in his heart and honest to what he believes and if that means he doesn’t convert, then I know I have to accept that. Because I have felt that its wrong for me to hope for his conversion, I haven’t actively tried to or admitted to trying to convert him.

I’ve recently come to realize that in order for me to be a ‘good Catholic’ I need to have a heart to heart with him concerning my thoughts and intentions in our religious relationship. That I will try to win his heart to the Catholic Church, yet I will also maintain my respect for his faith and what he accepts as truth. The subject has caused me a lot of worry during these last few years.

Praying for you. I went through the same thing about four years ago after we had our fifth child. My husband went through with his vasectomy and it still is very difficult for me to accept. Every now and then my husband wishes for one more boy so I think he regrets his decision. We have four girls and one boy.:signofcross:

St Monica and Saint Augustine please pray for my children that they can return to the faith. May they have the eyes to see and the ears to hear, I ask this in Jesus name Amen
