PRAYER TO ST. MONICA

Dear St. Monica,
troubled wife and mother,
many sorrows pierced your heart during your lifetime.
Yet, you never despaired or lost faith.
With confidence, persistence, and profound faith,
you prayed daily for the conversion
of your beloved husband, Patricius,
and your beloved son, Augustine;
your prayers were answered.
Grant me that same fortitude, patience,
and trust in the Lord.
Intercede for me, dear St. Monica,
that God may favorably hear my plea for

(the intentions of all on this thread)

and grant me the grace to accept His Will in all things,
through Jesus Christ, our Lord,
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, forever and ever.
Amen.

For all the intentions of this thread.

Dear St. Monica, pray to Jesus for help with my depression. I am so unhappy in my life and my marriage. DH listened to me last night for the first time in months and I came away even angrier feeling like he is only passively supporting me. Jesus, I need DH to say to me ‘I’m here for you, I will support and encourage you in any way you need.’ Not, ‘Yeah, I agree you need some help. You should ask the dr for a script for some antidepressants.’ I feel like he’s saying, sure, go for it, I’ll be here on the couch.

St. Monica, ask Jesus to help me control my thoughts and QUIT DWELLING ON THE NEGATIVE!!! I feel like a prisoner in my own mind!!! Please Dear Jesus, give me your Joy. Come into my heart and fill in all the holes with your love. Heal my memories Lord and help me to thrive and not just survive. I love you Lord and I want to serve you.

I love listening to Catholic radio, but I feel like I’m just beating my head against the wall with all these great insights I’m gaining b/c I have nobody to share them with and I’m unable to implement them in my family b/c DH is not on board w/ me. I feel like I’m just frustrating myself and actually making myself more miserable listening to it.

Help Me Jesus! Bring DH back to the Church.

:hug1: I’m sorry you’re having such a tough time. Have you actually said those words to your DH? That you need to know he will be the strong one you can lean on for encouragement and support right now? I’ve found that men often need to be told exactly what we need…we ladies are good at figuring things out intuitively, men tend to need directness, know what I mean?

Here is the optional closing prayer from the Chaplet of Divine Mercy:

Eternal God, in whom mercy is endless and the treasury of compassion - inexhaustible, look kindly upon us and increase your mercy in us, that we might not despair nor become despondent, but with great confidence submit ourselves to your holy will, which is love and mercy itself, Amen.

Might I suggest also praying the Rosary and Chaplet of Divine Mercy? You can pray them with special intentions for your family (that’s what I do). They will also bring you closer to Our Lord Jesus and give you strength. :hug1: In case you’re not familiar with them, you can find the Rosary here: ewtn.com/Devotionals/prayers/rosary2.htm and the Chaplet of Divine Mercy here: thedivinemercy.org/message/devotions/chaplet.php

I am sorry that you feel like you have no one to talk to about these issues. I have been seeing a counselor for about a month and it is so wonderful to have someone to talk to openly about things that are happening in my life. It allows me the opportunity to even just reflect more on things I can do, little things, to not stay stuck in a rut. I would really recommend that you seek out a counselor, just to have someone else to listen and help give you advice. It is wonderful to have someone to talk to! 🙂

Hello everyone…God bless all of you. You are all in my prayers.

I am new here and am grateful to have found this thread. My 21 yr old daughter has decided to convert from Catholicism to Protestantism after dating her boyfriend who is very strong and steadfast in his Protestant faith. It has truly been very painful and I find myself paralyzed by this. Please keep her in your prayers.

A prayer for me and my wife in our troubled marriage. I falled her some years ago, and this hurt her deaply. She stuck through it but never fully recovered. I did not fully recover either by not being the husband and father I needed to be.

A few months ago I started therapy with her, I changed quite abit in the right direction. My wife though has not. She has been pulling away ever since. We have had some very good times in between then and now, so I know she loves me…I can see it and feel. Other days its complete opposite, she runs away from me. I won’t go into the in’s and out of things but, she meet a guy who was friends at first, it turned into more. I have asked her if she wishes to leave me for him, she says no. The reason will be because she doesn’t know if she can be the wife I want her to be, she’s not good enough for me, she doesn’t know if the feelings are there because of what happened years ago and her trying to get to me.

It is true she tried…I did not try soon enough it seems. I can see what she tried to do, what she did for me to make us love each other. I have falled on many things in seeing this coming…I took our love for granted.

The day she told me what she cheated, she also said she wanted us to work, she wanted this marriage. I was hurt, but knew I could forgive her, she did so much for me when I did this to her. We have a new set of rings we planed on renewing our vows with. She asked me to take them and I acepted. She said no matter what happens she wants us to be together. One thing though I did not say yet in all of this…she got pregnet from the guy she slept with. A few days later she lost the baby…this devistated her. She closed up after this for a week or so. Things got beter then bad again, good again, then bad again. One week end in all of this we made love…it felt so good inside me and I knew for her too. But then she ran again, closing up on me. I want to add this in the mix…I got a vesectamy after our second child ( we have two awsome childeren ), this also contributed to this events that have happened here. I told her I will get a reversale if things work out. She wants a child SO BAD.

She told me recenlty that she sleeped with this guy again right after the loss of the baby. This hurts…but I still want us to work. She still doesn’t know, but we are still together.
Code:
There was a night when things where very bad....I was getting sick to my stomick. This is when I believe I knew the only thing to do was pray. I went to work that night and looked up prayers for troubled marriages. I found prayers and printed them out. I prayed all night at work...breaking down at times. I told God please to help our marriage, and I would also share it with others in hopes prayers would help.

I believe it is working, we are still together. She has opened up to me alittle bit so far. This is when she told me about the time after the miscarrage....that God did not help her save the baby, she is not worthy of my love, she is so lost...etc.... She is hurting so much inside. I do believe my prayers are helping and will continue saying them. I do ask for your help as well in praying for us and our marriage. Pray for her to let go of the pain she has from her guilt, then blame of her self, also that God did not help her with the child. Please pray for my wife to stop running away from me and run to me....and God for help.
thank you, and I pray for all those to in need of help.
