Star Trek bar none

4 spin-offs, and 10 movies spanning 4 decades

A total of 28 years of television shows

Although the latest Star Wars movie really rocked, much better than even Nemesis, I still say Star Trek.

“To boldly go where no one has gone before…”
mikeabele, you make a very good point here. No other televsion series has had more cultural influence than Star Trek, but perhaps Space Ghost might run a close second. :hmmm:

Star Wars. Never Star Trek. Never liked it and never will. Hey, at least I’m happy with Vader. 😃

…apples and oranges bones, apples and oranges…👍
…Sticks and Stones, SG, Sticks and Stones…

I couldn’t vote because the poll is too general. While Star Trek is definitely better, when I say that I mean **only **TOS and movies II, IV, and VI.

Star Trek Snob,

PS.
“Han Shot First!”

Is it true that Anakin’s wife is “strangled” to death by the dark side of the force by the big mean dark robot???In #3?
The thing that I have a beef with in this latest star wars is Lucas states:" It’s not for kids". Well, LUCAS why is Yoda on cereal boxes for KIDS? Why all the Lego stuff?
Hollywood is screwed up at times.

Star Wars, although I would have love to have seen Spock be part of the Jedi Council. He would have see right through Palpatane’s deceptive shanagins.

I think of Doctor McCoy as Anakin if he had not fell to the Dark Side. Damnit Yoda, I am a Jedi, not a philosopher!

It’s okay to like Star Wars, for as long as one keeps in mind that it is just fiction.

Star Trek, on the other hand, is gospel truth. 🙂
Hahahaha evil laugh I knew our religion teachers were wrong, but they just didn’t believe me!:getholy:

Ok, ultimate battle royal amonst CA visitors. For years, now, the debate has raged as to which is better…Star Wars or Star Trek. Post your feelings in the poll, and then back it up!
You needed a fourth option: Both equally.

They are both awesome! I could never choose.

Star Trek story lines are better, but Star Wars special effects trump Star Trek’s.

Can anything be better than Nemesis (except LOTR?)… I guess I must watch that movie!
Of the Next Generation movies, I thought that First Contact was the best. You think Nemesis is better?

Pardon me, but I’m a little confused here. Is Palpatane the Chancellor/Emperor?

This is not a spoiler, in Episode VI - Return of the Jedi they speak about Emperor Palpatane. You do the math.

NO, 1st Contact was far better… sorry for the mistake!

Star Wars. I think it’s more entertaing than Star Trek by far.

Of course, I never liked Star Trek, so maybe I’m biased.

I agree with the Ghost-meister–apples and oranges. I think they were about equal in entertainment value (with the original SW trilogy being better than the newer ones). Yes, the effects in the original ST were really cheesy, but that’s what they had to work with in the '60s.

Bear in mind that both series seem to take place in an alternate universe where sound can travel in a vacuum and no matter what happens to the ship, it always still has gravity (except the Klingon ship in Undiscovered Country). Also (ST only, not SW), all the aliens speak English (same on the SG1 series on SciFi). As a linguist, that bugs me.

Not going to the theater to see SW-RotS (what a cool acronym! just noticed that!), but probably will buy the DVD later on or watch it on DT-PPV

Star Trek is cheesy and pointless. On the other hand, Star Wars is about the unending battle between good and evil.

Star Wars is like LOTR with lasers, beat that.
