I made a point that there might be a bit more to the idea of Catholic humility. I asked in the form of a question

I did not see a question. IOW, you think it would have been more humble NOT to admit that they were “saying our evening prayers and giving praise to God.” ??? Keep your religion silent? I cheered them in my heart.
Strange idea of humility!

I spotted it as a college freshman in the 50s. That was when I realized that not everyone loved America, as had been exhibited by the generally wholesome people in our section of the US.

I found this in an old post, Jeanne, and the quote says it all for me. I think God is warning me not to lose holy joy for the sake of a few heated arguments. Time to leave World News and stick to other areas of the forum.
