certainly parts of the even were partisan, but some parts appeared to be, but should not have: prime example: why didn’t the Democrats applaud the low unemployment rate of minorities? Why was that divisive?

I didn’t watch it either. Listened to it on the radio.

I just stuck a link there for the “gimme a link” thing.

I did watch a couple of highlight clips while ago.

That poor soldier’s son. He looked like he didn’t know what to think.

I wonder if he asked his mom “what’s a Donald ?” on their way home 😂

Fortunately we spent our time saying our evening prayers and giving praise to God…not watching or listening to partisan political drivel…and that applies to Presidents of either political party

My 9 year old daughter threw a fit and ripped up some papers because she did not get her way a few weeks ago. Who knew that the Speaker of the House of Reps would show the same behavior as a fit throwing 9 year old girl?

Service to the nation trashing Bill Clinton every weekday for 8 years? And Obama for another 8 years?
Who else is more responsible for a divided nation where in the SOTU address the president refuses the speakers handshake and the speaker rips his speech?

It was a great speech. Kudos to Trump. We all sense that, being Trump, he must have badly wanted to rip the Dems on impeachment, and he didn’t. It was too much for Pelosi however who demonstrated her views symbolically by tearing up the speech at the end.

She is what the Dems stand for, tearing up this country, the accomplishments of good people, the positive actions happening in employment, trade, stopping illegals, supporting life, and including God. Tearing that speech in two is what the Dems are doing to this country… ripping it apart.

Her actions were insulting to Americans and unbecoming of her position as Speaker of the House. And the rest of the Democrats too, who expressed their disdain for Americans by sitting on their hands as a litany of progress was listed by President Trump. One cannot help but notice such a litany, inclusive of ALL Americans progress, was so impolitely dismissed by the Dems because they are blinded by their quest for power over others. Their disdain did not only did not go unnoticed, but was paraded by Pelosi in her final act on camera.

Trump held it together where Pelosi just couldn’t.

The SOTU is always remarkable to hear as accomplishments of Americans are brought before us in one event. Also, hearing the needs and progress we need gives us a sense of our path to continuation of that progress. That was inspiring. To watch the Democrats act as they did spoke volumes on how they feel about Americans’ accomplishments. They were truly uninspiring.

As one might expect, the cameras zeroed in on Schiff and Nadler wearing somber bored faces. The crew in white were also obviously not going to accept a single word of his. I couldn’t understand their steady collective jeer at one point in the speech.

The kicker came immediately afterwards when the Michigan Democrat gave an obnoxious speech to vilify some of his words and propagandize their platform. So out of place! - but not surprising that they would urgently get in their two-cents’ worth so that everyone who was glowing under Trump’s beautiful speech could be shot down. It was just as bad as Pelosi’s ripping his speech. Typical dem antics to parade their fake news. I wonder who was responsible for allowing this media transgression?

I’m depressed. Lol plus, I grew up in the Rush age. Like we all did. And we talk to each other differently than previous generations.
It would be convenient if it was just me, but anyone who felt good about Rush deserving that medal really cannot say they aren’t affected by the Rush era as I am.
For Trump, his personal political fortunes are helped by guys like Rush and Hannity and Levin. So the medal makes sense coming from him in the middle of his speech.
But I heard 8 years of wall to wall criticism and vitriol with Clinton, then 8 with Obama, and then Hillary. Who pioneered subjects like the first lady’s unshapely legs( my words his idea)?
None of you might ever appreciate this, but by increments, he did as much as anyone to move the bar of permissable places to talk about.
Kennedy, he wasn’t tailed. FDR, nobody snapped him in his wheelchair.
Rush pointed us slowly to where we are today. Places we can go now shifted. And we all followed because the moves were imperceptible. In time, others got into the action. Each laying claim to new ground they were willing to traverse to make their mark and earn a living.
Be honest! Like those old movie bar fights. One or two shove, and in 5 minutes everyone is hitting each other on the heads with bottles and chairs. ( How many of those bottles of sugar did they make?)How does one debate in that room? I watched and reflected on Rush last night getting that medal. I had the luxury that he wasn’t," on my side."

I think she’s at the end of her rope, her leadership of the House has been one failure after another for the Dem party.
Wishful an inaccurate assessment by her detractors. Such claim, if made about Trump by Trump detractors would be immediately dismissed.

You forgot to admire Trump for how presidential it was not to accept her handshake. Admiration must be the feeling right?

Seemed to be a lot more “me” and “my administration” than “we” or “the nation”.

Here that time was spent in RCIA studying and discussing the presence of Jesus in the Eucharist.

Your snark is unbecoming. Why? I made no claim for or against the President.
