I do want to thank you for taking the time to find and post articles. I will finish reading the latest one and respond this evening.

I left about a year ago, but the priests scandal was not a major reason. However, I do feel it provides some confirmation for some of my current beliefs.

Out of curiosity, where did you end up? No criticism intended or forthcoming.

Why did you leave and where, if anywhere, did you go?

Should Titus 1:5-9 and 1 Timothy 3:1-7 affect a decision to leave or to stay?

I’m an agnostic, or agnostic atheist, I’m not a huge fan of the all encompassing terms. I left due to studying historical Christianity and no longer believing it. I also have many philosophical issues, a big one being the problem of evil.

This is exactly what I mean. The Catholic Church was founded by Christ, and is Biblically solid, but the Bible is clear that the current church is no longer following Biblical principles. I do believe there is a remnant of Truth remaining, I just am not sure where to look.

I actually did stop watching NCAA football after the whole Penn State debacle demonstrated just how far the worship of so-called “amateur” athletics programs had gone, and how thorough the corruption was in the game.

Among the denominations that exist, none. They were all founded by men. But then Christ didn’t establish a denomination, he founded his universal Church.

I shared this elsewhere earlier but I kind of thing every Catholic should see it. I highly recommend Fr. Josh Johnson’s new book, Blessed and Broken, too.
