He was apparently arrested on a 2 million dollar mega yacht off the coast of Connecticut. So, probably not expecting it.

Edited to put it all together:

In a year that Trump is trying to defund the USPS and Boaters for Trump are holding “parades” –

Steve Bannon was arrested by Postal Inspectors on a boat.

🤣

Deep state is awfully busy these days 🤣
Facebook reports seeing a high increase in people spreading deep state conspiracies and other Qanon favourites. They’ve been working to delete the groups such people have made.

Well, they will probably be on the receiving end of some tweets, now that Trump has praised QAnon.

I think technically some of these guys pled guilty, but you get the point.

Stepping away from the politics of this for a moment, this should be a reminder to everyone to be careful who you give money to. I have worked with and around a lot of non-profits. Its not pretty. A shocking number of them are straight-up fraudulent (like this one), of those that are not, a surprising number are unreasonably wasteful and inefficient, of those that are neither of those, a depressing number are simply completely ineffective or incompetent.

BUT, there are still plenty of honest, efficient, effective non-profits out there. There are 1.5 Million non-profits in the US. Even of 90% are bad, that leaves 150,000 to choose from. Give generously, but do your due diligence first.

Charged in the Southern District of New York. I would say, then, that there’s at least a 40% chance Bannon is guilty of something. Wonder how many charges they’ll file in order to get him to plead to one.

I’m relieved to know that these anti Pope Francis and anti Vatican II non profit(eers) are starting to be outed for their fraudulent motives. I pray that they’ll all crumble eventually and we can get on with the business of Church.

I don’t believe these accounts had anything to do with the Church.

He has commented on it. Frankly I agree with TMC you have to be super careful and do your research as to whom you give money too. I was always suspicious of these private “build the wall” operations.

The Catholic Church is but one of the fronts being used to legitimize the financial profiteering of so many so called ‘non profits’. Bannon has relentlessly courted the Catholic base for his projects over the years.

Oh? Like what?
This is one project I’ve been following recently.

Innocent until proven guilty. It’s a shocking headline. I am aware of his school in Italy at that.

Hyperbole 🙃

As near as I can tell, this monastery is owned by the Ministry of Culture in Italy, not the monks. The Ministry of Culture gave Bannon and others a 19 year lease on the property. It is Bannon’s intention to use it as an educational institution called the Academy for the Judeo-Christian West. Billed as a kind of boot camp for populists, the academy will offer courses in history, philosophy, politics, and theology to 250 to 300 students at a time. Now there’s a crime if I ever heard of one. Heaven forbid that students be taught history, philosophy, politics and theology!!! Bannon’s group contracted to restore the abbey which had theretofore been abandoned. Looks like a magnificent structure, well worth preserving.

The Ministry of Culture decided to rescind the lease based, I guess, on Bannon’s political leanings. But the Courts, so far, have said that the Ministry of Culture can’t do that because they only had a limited time in which to do that, but didn’t.

I’m not real taken with Bannon, and I guess Trump isn’t either, anymore. But this dispute doesn’t seem awful to me.

I think that there are still a lot of political right wing Catholics who will not be able to let go of loyalty to anti Francis/anti Vatican II agitators like Bannon even with the most damning evidence of their motives. Here is a previous incident concerning Bannon and his career non profit exploitation. Personally I think that all non profits citing Catholicity should be put under the strongest scrutiny.

If Biden is elected, I doubt you’ll need to worry, as all Catholic not for profits will lose their tax exemption for various failures to meet government policies like making women priests, providing abortion coverage for employees, and failing to teach that homosexuality and transgenderism are not “fundamentally disordered” at all.
