Hello all,
I am not sure this is the best place to post, but you’ve been so helpful and encouraging about my RCIA attendance I thought I’d post here.
Although my husband is supportive of my attending RCIA, and even has no issue with my attendance of Mass, I am feeling awkward about it all.
It may sound like a no brainer to some of you who’ve been Catholic your whole life, or at least your entire adult life, but it’s a struggle for me to let go of my current church. They are wonderful people who truly love God and love the community. They reach out and they encourage and exhort the membership to walk a close walk with Christ, to be conformed to Him, to put off sin and live a life that honors Him. I’ve definately heard the pastor say things that aren’t in agreement with the Catholic church, but he never slams the Church or insinuates that Catholics aren’t “real” Christians, as I have heard some people say pastors say.
I think if my husband or children were joining me in Mass I would have no issue. I feel somewhat seperated from my family now and it’s hard because we’ve always been so close.
I am so new to RCIA I don’t even have a sponsor yet, so I feel like there is no one I can talk to about this.
Thanks for your prayers.
