http://www.lifenews.com/prolifestudents2.jpgSacramento, CA (LifeNews.com) – Earlier this month, a Catholic school in California won praise from pro-life advocates for firing a teacher who volunteered at a Planned Parenthood abortion business. Now, the student whose mother exposed the teacher’s activities has been expelled from the school.
Katelyn Sills, a sophomore at Loretto High School in southern California, says she has been expelled from the Catholic school because she and her mother exposed the pro-abortion activities of the school’s drama teacher.
Sills, who is 15, says she received an express mail letter on Saturday detailing her expulsion.

What is up with this? I read the article and it gives no reason what so ever for the expulsion…there must be something else that we don’t know about going on here…

I personally think that the teacher got what she deserved. You can’t be catholic and pro-abortion.

Seems ugly on the face of it. I wonder what we don’t know.

It seems like retribution for embarassing the school. Seems to me that the school OUGHT to be embarassed and that the kid did a heroic thing. Again, I wonder what we don’t know.

I believe she was not a Catholic. but she had signed an employment contract that she would not espouse certain non-Catholic prinicples. So in general you are correct.

That article tells us almost nothing. I’m not even sure whether the student’s explanation of the cause of the expulsion is the reason included in the letter or the student’s own conclusion. I myself find it hard to believe that the school would write a letter and say, “We have decided to expell you because your mother blew the whistle on a teacher who was violating our principles.”

I do not know if I am allowed to here but I have email addresses of both Sr. Helen Timothy (President of Lorretto H.S.) and IBVM-Provicial Superior, Rosemary Lynch. If Anyone knows if I allowed, I will post them and we can directly let them know our feelings on this matter. Kay

I read some where you can put email addresses or it might be of other members I really don’t know

Here is the girl’s blog: standupandspeakout.blogspot.com/

It mentions that her mother was banned from the school campus two weeks ago. And with her expulsion, the entire family is unwelcome there.

In the family’s press release, it mentions that Loretto has accused them of making “threats”, “abuse”, and “malicious” behavior.

There is a lot going on that isn’t making the news.

Do not post others’ e-mail addresses, private messages, or private e-mail sent by them unless they give you permission to do so

Did they send you the email addresses or did you find them via the school website? If via the school or other public website you can post email address.

A friend e-mailed me a news report this morning

It sounds like all the information is coming from this girl and her family. That is very one-sided. If they are making threats and saying malicious things that aren’t true about a teacher, then that is grounds for expulsion.
