Hi Moe,

It was nice to see some posts from you today, I was hopping you would post again soon to let us all know how you were doing.

Take care of yourself, and be as quiet (or loud) as you want.

Peace
Mary

**Sorry for being so quiet - I am just plain exhausted. I read everything - I am just too tired (or sad) to respond.

But I am still here!!!

Thanks Mary,

Love Moe**

Hope it is good news. Meantime, keep the family of baby Anna in prayer. She died yesterday, age 14 months. We both know the terrible pain they are going through right now. 😦
**Oh, I am crying so my heart just aches for them. Those poor people - that beautiful child.

Why does this have to happen. Why do the very things that we love have to be taken right from under us.

I am not having a good day today - as you can see. Life is just so terribly unfair.

Maggieodae - do you know them personally … I have prayed and shall keep praying. They have a very long week ahead of them.

Blessings, prayers and love,

Moe, Mom of Angel McKayla**

MAGGIEODAE - HAVE YOU SPOKEN TO YOUR FRIENDS AT ALL LATELY? I WON’T ASK HOW THEY ARE DOING - BUT ANY NEWS AS TO HOW THEY ARE HOLDING UP?

**Hi my beautiful friend. The same … two months and 4 days it will be one year … and the pain is as unbearable as ever 😦

I am out of bed - thanks be to God and I pray that I can stay that way. Some days I just don’t want to get out … but I have to for Greg and Amanda. Sometimes, and this is very selfish, I wish I didn’t have to be so strong. I cry my eyes out every day ---- but I continue to work and walk and I have even started to make some gourmet dinners.

But life is so hard, I can’t even explain it. We miss her — our family is broken without her.

How are you Lori … everything going well.

Thanks for checking in - I love hearing from my CAF friends. I have been really down - so haven’t written much — but still love hearing about you and your families as well.

Love Moe**

Seem to be doing ok so far. It’s early days yet. Kyle posted today asking for prayers for his bro and sil. They are expecting a new baby any minute now, she has gone into labor. I think Kyle is worried the same genetic mis-hap may occur again for his brother. Not sure, he didn’t say, but I am sure it must be on his mind.

This is from their journal. It was their eulogy for anna when they buried her last Friday.
We didn’t mean to name Anna Grace redundantly, but Anna means “grace,” so she’s “grace upon grace,” a “gift of a gift.”
We know many people would look at Anna’s life, with its hardship and short duration, and think it’s not much of a grace. And many people would look at the demands that her life placed on us and think we didn’t get such a great gift.
But she was a priceless gift, an immeasurable grace. We know that you who are gathered with us know that. That’s part of why she touched you so much. You know how much a single look of those tranquil, saintly blue eyes could mean, how they radiated peace. You know the value of her life, how she was worth every syringe, every monitor going off, every worried night. You know, in fact, that the difficulties we endured so pale against the blessing of her life that even to draw the comparison is a kind of sacrilege. We would do it for a million years. We are so glad we welcomed her life.
From the very beginning, we have taken inspiration from Mary, under her title Our Lady of Sorrows. She is called that most of all because of the Gospel we asked to hear today (John 19:25-30), that scene at the Cross, where Simeon’s prophesy is fulfilled and the sword pierces her soul. The divine love of God is manifested most fully in the Cross. This is the very love Jesus called us to when He asked us to lay down our lives for our friends. In Mary, we see the human reflection. She goes to the Cross with her Son, just like we were called to do with our daughter, and completely surrenders Him to the Father, however much it hurts.
We knew we were loving like Mary because in loving Anna we were loving the One who said “Whatsoever you did to the least of these, you did unto Me.”
Here in our broken world, love is always bound up with suffering. Blessed Mother Teresa, another inspiration, taught us this. She said “Love until it hurts.” She said love isn’t real until it hurts.
We all know how easy it is to turn away from that, to hold something back, to turn love into a cheap imitation, a nice feeling, some abstract principle. We all know deep down that real love is terrifyingly concrete: real people, real decisions. We know what counts is not how big the act of love it is but how hard it is. We know how often we fail at it.
The best way we can think of to honor Anna’s memory is to refuse to be satisfied with that. Love until it hurts. Seek out and love those who don’t look like a blessing to anyone, who don’t look like a grace, who don’t look like a gift. Seek out and love the ones who are hard to love, those who can’t or won’t repay it. Approach them with Anna’s peaceful spirit. If we want to honor Anna’s memory, we will spread that little bit of her spirit everywhere we go. As her parents, we are firmly convinced this is the only thing that will ever do any good in the world: people freely choosing to give themselves completely to love of God and love of neighbor.
We want to thank everyone who cared for her and for us, everyone who said a prayer for her. We have been blessed with great generosity at every turn, in hospitals, in churches, among family and friends, among all those who prayed so fervently for her. Most of all we thank God for giving us the privilege of being her parents and sharing her with us these 14 months.
We know Anna is in heaven. St. Maximilian Kolbe used to say when one of his friars died that now he could work with both hands, instead of spending so much time just keeping himself steady in this world. Anna is now working with both hands. We are also convinced that the thousands upon thousands of prayers offered for her went straight to heaven and are even now preparing to rain grace down on those who were touched by her. May the sweet incense of her prayers before the throne of God be with us all and help lead us home with her.

**Yes, they are numb … it is God’s way of protecting them through this horror.

What a beautiful Eulogy - just beautiful - brought tears to my eyes

Thanks so much for letting us know - prayers always - Love Moe**
