Thank you Lissa … I know I should be rejoincing that she is in her heavenly place where we all are journeying … but i miss her so and If I could wish her back I would. Am I terrible for that … even though I know she isn’t missing us and is as happy as can be?

I feel very guilty about that … because so many people tell me where she is … and we shouldn’t wish for her back … I miss her with every beats of my heart.

People that tell you you shouldn’t wish for her back have obviously not lost a child. Don’t feel guilty. She was your child ofcourse you want her back, it’s only natural. Don’t let others tell you how to grieve -even well meaning ones.
You’re still in my prayers.:gopray:

Thank you Rayne89 … I feel when people tell me that - I am in Grave Sin … I just miss her … and even though I know she is perfectly happy - I miss her … every hair on her head, every beat of her heart, her smell, her piano playing … everything … God … it is torture!

People don’t know grief, how wrenching it is. Yes, the person is in a better place, but we on earth still deeply miss the person.

And you are not in grave sin!!!

One day, one hour, one second at a time, Moe…

…and that child did a beautiful job on the web site.

Thank you — although I do feel guilty for wanting her back in our lives …

Please visit the site and let McKayla’s friend Kim know how beautiful she did on the website … it is magnificent.

Moe you and your family are still in my prayers every day at daily mass, I pray for McKayla’s soul also.
Thank you - we miss her with every beat(s) our our hearts … and we know that she is stilled loved, even more than when on earth … but we just desperately miss her 😦

I hope you don’t mind but I posted your memorial website on my parish’s message board. We have many good people there who will pray for you. I am still praying as well and DO NOT listen to those who tell you that you are sinning by wanting your baby back. It must be torture and I never want to know this feeling.

I don’t mind at all … thank you …

No one yet has told me I am sinning … I just feel like I am … because she is with Him now …

Thank you for your kind words. I have been so blessed with people like you and CAF.

I visited and signed the memorial page, McKayla was such a beautiful young lady!

I am so glad no one has told you that. I think I understand what you are saying…though I have never experienced this myself I know I would feel the same as you. So often my three year old asks me if it is sad when someone dies. I tell her yes, but happy at the same time if the person is with Jesus. However, I know in my heart that I would mourn greatly if it were my child. I thank Jesus for His wounds and that we can hide in them.

Moe, You are giving your daughter honor by mourning her. She was your life and the grief you feel is true. Your heart has been ripped out and you probably don’t know if you can ever heal this pain. I am so sorry.

I admire your honesty with your emotions. Do not let fear of sinning keep you from what you are feeling. Look at Job in the Bible. He mourned his loss and he was not convicted of a sin.

On a more personal note … my sister was killed in an accident and it truly devastated my family. Joanne was one of those people who was so kind and beautiful with so many talents. I remember asking God why he didn’t take me instead because I was so imperfect.

I also remember my mother … she was so lost. She didn’t know which way to turn. She truly loved God and had faith through so many hardships but this one took the cake. It was too much for her to bear. She went into a state that can sort of be described as emotional denial. She said to me once, “I don’t mourn Joanne. She is in a better place.” I remember looking at her and feeling so bad. It was obvious that she was in mourning. She slept so much, ate very little and would cry at the drop of a hat. The poor woman had her heart ripped out but she was afraid to go against God and mourn the loss of her daughter.

Mourning is a selfish process because it is OUR loss, OUR pain, and OUR sadness. But it is also natural and needed.

I never talked much with my mom about mourning after that. I was young and was trying to find my way out of that dark time myself. But I will never forget that day as long as I live.

You are being true to yourself and honest with your emotions. That, in itself, is something to be admired. I would consider the suggestion to go see a grief counselor … it is a very safe place to put your emotions.

God bless you and your family. You will be in my prayers.

I agree. Give yourself time to mourn. Give your family alot of time too. Our society is too rush, rush. You will never not feel pain from this, but time will soften it for you, as you go on, as a family, into the future. Don’t let anyone else dictate how should go about this, it’s a very personal journey.

God Bless you.

I have no other choice … I don’t even want to laugh right now … although a few have slipped out here and there … I just miss her … everything about her …everything.

I know an older woman. Her 17 year old son played football in highschool. He had a cardiac arrest on the football field years ago while this woman was watching the game. It turns out he had that hidden heart ailment that strikes young people in their prime. She ran down to the field and performed unsuccessful CPR on her son. I was in the High School band at the time and witnessed the whole thing. This woman was a nurse and could not bring her son back to life.

I still know her. she’s in her 60’s now. I heard it took years for her to recover. I know that once she had grandchildren, it really helped. She still doesn’t talk about it. I don’t know what can help a person get over this. Nothing can be more painful than losing a child, nothing. 😦

That just happened on the High School Basketball - one of the boys died of cardiac arrest … in NH somewhere.

It is heartbreaking … just heartbreaking.
