Actually it never came before the Senate. McConnell shut it down. Send me the link where it was the Senate. No hearings - it was the guy who said his goal was to make Obama a one term president in the midst of a financial crisis. Republican or Democrat cannot understand how anybody can support this person

Have then been able to time-travel too? I guess they all drive DeLoreans.
I can’t make sense of your comment. She was in therapy in 2012.
According to The Washington Post, Ford said she told no one of the incident involving Kavanaugh in any detail until 2012, when she was in couples therapy with her husband.Therapists have been know to extract totally false memories from their patients.
I don’t see why driving a Delorean would be relevant to the question at hand.
Because even if the memory was totally false, it could not have been extracted as a way to discredit Kavanaugh’s current appointment. Nobody knew he was going to be appointed. So that just answers the one criticism that perhaps this whole thing was made up specifically to derail this SCOTUS appointment.

“I was attacked” is part of the 2012 record with her therapist.
“I was attacked by Kavanaugh” only goes back to July.

That’s the part that is aimed at derailing this appointment.

Perhaps you are right. When we hear the testimony of the therapist we will know for sure. Oh, wait, the FBI is not interviewing the therapist. Shucks!

We’ll find out around 10:00 if this is going to go any further. That’s the deadline Sen Grassley set for Ford to confirm she will or will not attend hearings set for Monday. I’m pretty sure the committee can ask that question; it’s not like the FBI is the only group that knows how to interrogate a witness.

This isn’t their last card. This morning, I heard Geraldo Rivera (who says he’s “pro-choice”) acknowledge this obstruction is about abortion and nothing else. The Dems are desperate to preserve abortion on demand and if the Ford trick doesn’t work, there will be another.

I’ll go further. Since Kavanaugh has never said how he would rule on abortion if it comes before him, he is ASSUMED to be prolife because he’s a faithful Catholic. In other words, he’s stereotyped. “Oh, he’s Catholic, so he must be…”

Anti-Catholic bigotry is rampant in the Dem party. Might as well be the KKK.

While I certainly agree that the primary objective is to save abortion from even the threat that the issue may be returned to the states, that really isn’t the only concern. The entire liberal agenda proceeds via the courts, and without victories at SCOTUS that agenda is, at best, temporarily thwarted.

Well, have the FBI question the therapist!
Unless Ford waives her privacy rights under HIPPA, I’m not sure the therapist can confirm anything other than Ford was a patient. And even if Ford does waive HIPPA, all the therapist can confirm is that Ford told her about the alleged assault, not that the alleged assault happened or anything about it.

Interesting, considering the accuser has stated she didn’t tell anyone about this.
Additionally this alleged incident occurred over the summer so how was it discussed for days afterwards at school?
Pretty fishy…

I think it’s more than just HIPAA. In some states, including my own, therapist/patient conversations have long been privileged, well before HIPAA. Now, there are a number of ways Ford can waive both, and she might have done it already, depending on just what she has disclosed about the conversations.

This is all straight out of the democratic playbook. More games. They should be
ashamed of themselves, but they are not.
They don’t care about lives ruined or what their behavior does to families. As long as they get what they want.

The difference is McDonnell was blocking a supreme court nominee prior to a PRESIDENTIAL election. The current nominee is merely caught up in mid-term elections.

If we don’t allow nominees to be approved during mid-term periods, no nominee would ever get approved.

Can you quote the accuser? And link to the timeline?
The quote I saw from her seemed to indicate that she did not discuss it in detail. Moreover, there were others at the party.
These ambiguities are a por basis for drawing conclusions; rather they provide good reasons to have the witnesses interviewed.

It was also manufactured by a retirement, if that makes a difference. McConnell is only doing what he can get away with. Might not be a good thing in the long run.

I’m really not much of a believer in the vast majority of conspiracy theories, and another point is that some of her friends acknowledged that she did talk to them about it prior to 2017. Do you have any evidence at all that their therapist drew “completely false allegations” from them? If not, why would you make such an accusation if you really don’t know? It’s sorta like “Have you stopped beating your wife yet?”.

And after that, then what? Another charge, then another, then another? This is not real. It’s a phony ruse to keep a possibly prolife Catholic off the bench. That’s why Feinstein hid the ball for two months; to spring it just at the best moment to derail the appointment by calling for yet another “investigation”.
First of all, the average FBI investigation on such matters dealing with only one nomination normally takes about 2-3 days.

Secondly, there must be a sale on conspiracy theories as I doubt very much there’s a purpose is to keep a Catholic off the bench.

Finally, Feinstein said she didn’t know what to do with the information provided her, especially because she didn’t want to be disclosed or to serve as a witness.

Seems that you’re scared of something, maybe like her story might be confirmed? maybe other witnesses? maybe other women? Anyhow, I have patience and don’t subscribe to acting recklessly, so let’s see what transpires before jumping to conclusions. .
