you’re wrong. why does the church contract sacramental marriages of old people who are no longer of child bearing age. i think it is arrogant to insist that marriage must produce children. what about couples who cannot have children due to ovarian cancer? You need to take a look at what a sacrament is and what makes them valid.
I know very well what makes a marriage valid and the impediments of consent, it was part of my training.
What you believe does not change the facts of the matter, (no pun intended). If the couple is unable to consummate the marriage, the sacrament does not exist, it is simple as that.
what about child free couples?
i do not insist on children but i can see how others do for themselves. but it is not right to insist on those couples who can’t have children or don’t want them or are past the age to have children. it is not your right to demand sex even within sacramental marriage as that would be considered marital rape. the spouses are not required to have sex on demand which i think is where you going with your argument and women should not put up with it.
