I wasn’t as engaged with the delivery of this movie as I typically am with the type of British satirical comedy that was prevalent in the late 70’s and early 80’s. While I enjoyed some elements of the film, it left me feeling wanting for more.

There, is that better? Didn’t mean to offend.

difficult for me to imagine someone with the capacity to appreciate MP, who doesn’t also appreciate napolean. but ok.

There was a dynamic possessed by the Monte Python crew that is impossible to replicate.
 
Well, I thought it ws great. My friends and I are constantly quoting at each other. My faves: “You guys are retarded!” and “Make yourself a dang quesaDILLa” of course the whole movie is funny.
Oh, and the wedding scene is great. I was trying to describe the song ("whyyy do you love me…) to my husband but he hasn’t seen it so he doesn’t really get it.
Gosh!
 
Flippin awesome movie. However, I teach 8th grade CCD, and let me tell you it is VERY popular with the kids. That quoting stuf is getting very old very quickly.
 
For me, the most imminently quotable movie ever is Heartbreak Ridge.

i agree 127%. and yet - ND is a work of art, in my opinion. esp the intro credits!!
 
My 17 yr old son and all his friends LOVE the movie. (the same guys who also love homestarrunner!)

Sad to say, I graduated from high school with people like Napoleon and have pictures of them in my yearbook! So, it was a bit painful to watch 🙂

My favorite lines? “I caught you a delicious bass.” and, “Are you drinking 1% because you think you’re fat?” Classic pick up lines!

my husband and i were sitting in a cafe, hoping to have a late lunch. we were feeling a little silly and just being dumb, plus we were both starving and the place was very busy and we sat in our booth for a VERY long time without seeing any wait staff. my husband started “communicating” with Happy Hand Club motions. this went on for a little bit, with me choking back giggles and pretending to “communicate” back with him. he fell over laughing, head down, when i signaled something particularly, um, amusing. however…our waitress chose that moment to come over and asked me, “is he deaf? i saw the sign language.” i’m like, “no, he just has Happy hands.”

she actually knew what i was talking about!!! very funny.

we’re talking about a movie called napolean dynamite. it’s very clean and very funny. if you wanna see a clean, funny movie (and relate to what 80% of the kids today are talking about) then you should check it out.

do you not remember when napoleon stands up and “performs” with the happy hand club? they use their hands and give a dramatic “performance” with their hands flitting around like butterflies.
 
My adult kids and I loved it. We can pop the dvd in at any scene and laugh. Friends of ours walked out…too stupid they thought. I just love looking at him in his moonboots w/ that posture of his.

Oh Yeah?!? Well your mother smelled of elderberries!

I agree that ND was no Monty Python, but I still really enjoyed the film.

Our new Pastor is a Monty freak…he often breaks into songs from the “Life of Brian”. I love that guy!
