jeff,
do you not remember when napoleon stands up and “performs” with the happy hand club? they use their hands and give a dramatic “performance” with their hands flitting around like butterflies.
This, for me, was the funniest part of the movie. I love how the camera pans across the row of girls and then gets to Napoleon. I have been a high school teacher in a small Wisconsin town for many years and have had students almost like Napoleon.

I saw this movie when it first came out at an art house movie theatre and laughed so hard I had tears coming out of my eyes.
The tater tot scene killed me, as did “vote for Pedro and all of your wildest dreams will come true.”

there’s a girl who works for me who quotes the entire movie while she’s working. she’s funny anyway, and when she quotes ND, it’s hilarious. so i knew most of the movie before i even saw it. then when i saw it in context, it was even funnier.

i watched that and ‘shaun of the dead’ the same weekend - both very very funny. but shaun was pretty violent and had bad language, so i’m not recommending it.

I wonder where he bought that Pegasus Xing sign on his door… or the D-Quan’s Dance Moves tape… :rotfl:

Oh Yeah?!? Well your mother smelled of elderberries!

I agree that ND was no Monty Python, but I still really enjoyed the film.

Our new Pastor is a Monty freak…he often breaks into songs from the “Life of Brian”. I love that guy!
Your mother was a hampster, and your father smelled of alderberries. Of course I’m frrrench, why do you tink i speak with thees outrrrrageous accent, you silly King? I blow my nose at you, I fart in your general direction. Now go away before I taunt you a second time.

I loved the “Alien Abduction Insurance” card in the opening credits.
Oh, and for those of you who haven’t seen the movie but are planning to, stay through all the end credits. There’s more.

we’re talking about a movie called napolean dynamite. it’s very clean and very funny. if you wanna see a clean, funny movie (and relate to what 80% of the kids today are talking about) then you should check it out.
Most of the movies I like involve things that explode

A hero named “Steve” is always a plus but optional 😉

I don’t recall the last time I saw a movie in a theater 😦

There was a time in my life when I would go weekly

Ah, the joys or entrepreneurship

My son said everyone at school was talking about how the actor Napoleon Dynamite was recently killed in a car accident. Is that true or just a rumor (I hope?)

I work in a department store and we now have shirts that say:

“are you gonna eat your tots?”

“Tina, you fat lard, come get some dinner!”

and

“tiger + lion= liger” with a picture of napoleons drawing.

I sold one of the liger shirts to this kid today and he was so excited, lol. His mom came up and he was all, “mom, look at my liger shirt!” she was like, “yeah that’s great…” That’s probably a house that’s seen the movie a few times…not that mine isn’t… 😃

I saw the movie a fortnight ago. It’s definately one of the funniest I’ve ever seen.

Gotta love the music!

cool! what store do you work at? I’ve been looking online, but they’re kinda expensive…

Shot it with a 12 gauge what do you think? Gosh! Love that line

I hate to say it, but Napoleon Dynamite is a mediocre movie. Sure, it has got some funny quotes but the quotes are much funnier when you’re not watching th movie.

My main problem with the film is that it sacrifices character development and an engaging story for weirdness. Quirkiness and weirdness are just fine, as long as they’re not in lieu of a good story and good characters. Napoleon Dynamite never really makes you care about the characters, though you can tell that it wants you to.

If you want to see a movie that does very well what ND tries to do, watch Rushmore.

Napoleon Dynamite is the best movie ever!

“Ahhh you guys, I’m real low on cash flow right now!”

Best line ever (you have to see it it understand.)

While I was watching it for the first time about a month ago I couldn’t believe I was actually watching this movie. Of course I found myself laughing about it, (and still do) afterwards. I think the best part of the movie was watching my boyfriends mouth hang open while watching it. He couldn’t believe he was watching such a stupid movie. I LOVED it! Makes me roll, and yes I’m Well past my teenage years. 😉

sadly, i didnt see it until just recently, but i absolutely loved it. i thought it was hysterical and i love it now. my whole high school is absolutely obbsessed with it and . . . . you get the picture 😃

Does anyone have the soundtrack? I’ve been wanting it. Gotta love that funky synthisizer (or however you spell it)!
