I guess I’m a little behind, but I just watched it and loved it! I should have listened to everyone sooner.

One of my favorite lines: “Napolean, what are you going to do today?” “Whatever I want to do…Gossshhh.”

I love the slap fight Napolean and Kip get into.

I didn’t think it was set in the 80’s, but one of the above posters said it was. Was it?

It was the first likable “quirky movie” I have seen. At first I thought it was going to be like Ghost World, which I cringe at the thought of.

Maybe it was because it was sooo overhyped, I really didn’t watch the whole thing. I admit, some things in it were funny, but I guess I would have to really sit down and watch it to really “get it.” I guess it’s an acquired taste! 🙂

We watched this movie a few days ago courtesy of HBO.It was very entertaining and still remember almost every scene of the flick. My colleage told me that it was a very stupid movie, whilst at the same time, she was LOL.

One of the stupidest movies I’ve had the misfortune of watching. It was like watching a dumb kid doing every day things. He had as much personality as the movie itself. The problem was, I continued to watch it to the end because I was actually looking for the plot to come at any moment… didn’t happen.

ACK!

This was my feeling exactly. I was sitting on my couch watching this on a DVD. Everyone at my wife’s work was saying how great of a movie it was.

I was about a quarter of the way into it and said to her, “does it get better?” She said “it must.”

About 1/2 way through it, I knew what they were attempting as jokes but they just were not funny. I consider my sense of humor to be pretty good but this movie was just not funny.

My wife says at the end of the movie “We would have left the theater long before the ending. What were the people at my working thinking or on when they watched this thing. It was dreadful.” I could only agree with her.

A very painful experience.http://forums.catholic-questions.org/images/icons/icon9.gif

I LOVE HIM!!! I REALLY DO!!!

We only got to see it on DVD but I loved the out takes…especially the one of them stealing the suit from the thrift store…BRILLIANT!!

Little noticed funny part…When he and Deb are at the dance and Napolean’s head keeps getting hit with the star hanging in the gym. I laughed so hard at this movie.

I didn’t *love *it.I thought it was funny, it sort of fit the quirky sense of humor that my sister and I have always had, I watched it on Pay per view, and recorded it, but probably won’t watch it again. It’s not something I would watch over and over. It was amusing to see something I would have thought was hilarious when I was a preteen, but alas, my sense of humor is a bit more mature now, My husband would never think it was funny, so we will probably never watch it together. If I watch it again it will be with my sis the next time she visits.

I know that there are people who think that this movie is stupid, or has no plot, but actually, I see a deeper meaning in it. To me it means that the lowlier people of this world–the uncool, the unsophisticated, the unpopular–have their dreams (no matter how ridiculous they may seem to you or me) and are entitled to have their dreams come true.
I got the same thing from it, I felt like I could laugh in jest at this character, yet also feel a sense of dignity toward him as a human being. When I was in HS I just spent all the time trying not to laugh at kids like this, so it was nice to laugh freely and watch him obtain his dream of trying to gain skills. I also liked the 80’s flashback.

Ok, forget my previous thread about not wanting to watch it again… I just might do that tonight

This movie has absolutely no point and that is what makes it great. I have a 7 year old that knows so many lines from that movie, it amazes me! He likes to quote the line about “Nessy.” It is so funny. And to top it off my 2 1/2 year old daughter makes me ask her, “Savannah, what are you going to do today?” Which she graciously replies “Whatever I feel like, gawsh!” We are raising the future of America in our house. 😃

Time to BUMP this thread, since the film finally came to the head of my Netflix queue.

that was the dumbest, stupidist, craziest, most ignorant, a large pile of celluloid…
**"Like anyone could even know that, Napoleon!"
:rotfl:

I really liked the A-Team-theme Vote-For-Pedro poster hanging scene (even if it was later nullified by the Summer Wheatley Pi~ata Incident).

…And Lyle, taking care of the steak shortage… :rotfl:

I thought it was hillarious, and had a sweet story line… I am thinking about parts and :rotfl: My daughter quotes parts of it. Itr was too funny.

The first time I saw it I thought it was borderline lame. I watched it the second time and cracked up. I have seen it half a dozen times. I would call myself an official fan now, the fansite wanted me to join because I’m pretty good with the bow staff.

Does anyone know what Tina should be eating? Surely Llamas don’t really eat grose cassaroles.

Lol its a plotless, terrible movie, but SO funny! The more times i’ve watched it the funnier I find it. I don’t know what it is, but some of those quotes, just the delivery and randomness of them, are hilarious. The fact that the movie is so random and about nothing is what makes it amusing.

When I got done watching this movie with my mom, I asked my mom why no one makes good clean fun like this anymore. She said she had no idea.
Anyway, my favorite bit is the time machine that doesn’t work. That had me ROFL. Especially when that dummy spent all that money on it. I wonder if there really is a scam like that on the net.
